What’s real? Life…Death…What?!

What’s real? Life…Death…What?!
By Don Twobears

Lately, I have been seeing a great deal about “How we should be living” or “How we should be with others” from a Spouse to a Girl Friend, etc., Etc.. I have also been seeing so much about, what we should eat and what we shouldn’t, how much we need to exercise, now it’s whether there is a Heaven and a Hell! I can safely say, there is no way in this world we can assimilate all this information and use it every day! So the question is, what should we be doing, in almost everything we do everyday?

“Well…we need to be careful and not eat very much red meat or now we shouldn’t drink a lot of coffee!” Whatever! What I hate is, we must run a mile everyday! Say what?! Run a mile? I’m doing good to walk a mile, I have arthritis so bad in my knees, I can’t stand up for more than 30 minutes! And you want me to run a mile?! Yeah Right!! “Well…you must understand you may end up with Diabetes if you don’t control what you eat and if you don’t exercise!” Alright…I have Diabetes because it runs in my Family, I’m an American Indian and better than 65% of us already have it! Now what?! Then they begin to run through a list of things that I could end up having, if I don’t adhere to this or that! “You are awful, one day your gonna die because of this or that…!!” And off they go again!

Has it ever occurred to anyone that “Death” is inevitable?! I hate it when I hear someone say, “That is so sad, they died before their time! They were so young!” Then you have some, that say, something along the line of “They were taken in the Prime of Life!” How do you know when their “Prime of Life” is? Let me see here, the Prime of Life is between the years of…of…where does it start and when does it end? I’m 61 years old, so that must mean it’s okay for me to die now, because I am no longer in the “Prime of my Life”! That really is beginning to sound like Euthanasia to me. Why is it that I am no longer in my Prime of Life? Who designates these times and just what do you have in mind to handle that?

Isn’t it a benefit for the young in the world, to have someone that knows what is going on, some place close, so that they can learn from them? Pardon me here, but that sounds like I’m still in my Prime of Life and still needed for something! I have yet to meet a person that is young and a Historian at the same time, so let’s put a different spin on that for now, okay? “Yeah…well, we’re in the digital age now!” Look bud, there are things from my past, that I would never be able to put down on paper and make the same impact, do you understand that?! Even the Bible talks about this;

Proverbs 20:29 “The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.”

Job 12:12 “With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.”

I am not saying that “All” older men are Wise, there are some that have never matured. By in large, it should be the older that teaches the young wisdom! Let’s look at it this way, having been on this earth many more years, than the young, has to at some point in time, taught you things they know nothing about. Make sense? If for nothing else, it should lend the older more “Common Sense”, which we all know the young have little of, or are NOT willing to spend any time acquiring. The Young are more passionate it seems and the older men already have been through this and know where it can lead a person, which is not always a good thing! I am not calculating worthiness of the endeavor of the young, but how many of them take any time to think things through…FIRST?! That being the lesson from the older ones.

So the question now is, which is better, to be young or old? Of course the young say, it is better to be young, your stronger, faster, more agile. The older say it’s better to be old and wise, than young and stupid. On either side, the question about Death is never answered. The reason is, none have ever come back from being dead to give an answer, other than Jesus Christ, HE is the only one! Having said that and knowing it is truth, the fact that Jesus Christ is God, wouldn’t it be far better to listen to what HE has to say about everything? And yet if you look around today, few are reading the Bible, much less going to Church.

Considering the the time we are living in and the proximity to the “Rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ”, the Bible ought to be the literature of choice. Sadly few are reading the Bible and very few, have any idea of what is on the very near horizon. For the majority, they are too busy having fun, to be considering the Rapture and how they will endure the Tribulation. Along with that, few understand the natural events that are taking place everyday.

For the Believer and follower of Jesus Christ, these events should be signs of Joy, not dismay. And yet, when you get right down to it, again for the Believer, the Rapture or death should pose no problem. As we already know, the workings of this world are geared for the younger people to explore and there is no lose of scary information for them to delve into. Watch an excerpt of a scary movie sometime and you will get a good idea of what the young are into. Even at that, they still wonder to a degree, what is on the other side of death and apparently it is far more fun to think in terms of Zombies and Vampires, than to the Eternal abode that faces them.

I have changed some of my thinking, in terms of the younger people, they are not like the older people. The young are wide awake and taking in as much as they can muster, just not the Word of God (By-in-Large), it’s the older folk that are lazy and asleep at the wheel. It would appear, that for the older set, the ringing of the alarm bells about the Rapture is just annoying. Suddenly, you begin to wonder, where did all that Wisdom and Common Sense go to?! This brings me to the point concerning the “Great Delusion” and it’s effect on People. The young have no idea of what that is about and the older ones just plain don’t care, they are too busy with their lives. A vicious cycle raises it’s ugly head, the young too busy “Living” a life, with little Wisdom or Common Sense and the Older too busy trying to be young again! Wow…how things have changed, right?!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing. A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak. A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”

The Common Sense is in the Bible, it is there to teach us how to live our lives and that after that comes the Judgement by Jesus Christ. Birth and Death are “Gimme’s” in this life and yet the question of life is still simple, to make one decision, Jesus Christ or satan. The actual life we are to live is an Eternal Life…NOT this life! This life is the very first step we take in the Eternal and it is here that we decide for ourselves, where we wish to spend that life.

This is the point of this article today! This life is to make a simple, single decision and we are to live, to ask the questions that concern us and then find the answers in the Holy Word of God, the Bible. Funny how we spend so much time trying to meet all our pleasures, wants and desires, when it was always meant to follow Jesus Christ or not, to decide our Eternal fate. The young don’t have the years to formulate this idea in their minds and it should be the older ones, showing them the path. Sadly the older ones are too busy with themselves and their wants, to show the younger ones what the whole ball of wax is all about.

So which is more important? Our Lives or our death? Does wealth really exist and is it real or is it just a huge lie? Money made from paper and ink from plants, put together and now many have a new God, rather than the God that created everything, to include you and I! Two totally different ways to go after this life, after we make our decision. After you die will you be able to look back and see your path, what was real and what wasn’t, what was solid and what was a mirage? The Bible is indeed old and yet it can guide us successfully through our life today. Pick it up today and read all the answers you could ever think of. “The Truth will set you free”!

May the Lord bless you and Keep you!!!
