There’s No Peace On Earth – There Is Peace In Christ
By Geri Ungurean

I was touched deeply as I watched a video with Claire Ryann Crosby and her father, Dave.

Claire has been singing since she was two years old. I believe that now she is four. When I listen to her, I am reminded of this Scripture:

“Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?”

And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?” (Matthew 21: 14-16).

Peace is Only Found in Christ

We only need to look back at history to understand that there will never be peace on earth apart from Christ – peace is found in Jesus Christ alone. After the Tribulation, when Christ comes to reign upon the earth, there will be peace for 1000 years.

Heavenly Riches – Not Earthly Gain

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6: 19-20).

The Prosperity gospel preachers are storing up for themselves treasures on earth. When I listen to them, I realize that they have missed the heart of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We become soldiers for the Lord when we repent and trust Him for our Salvation. Is there peace in this world for us? No. As a matter of fact, life was easier before we believed. The god of this world is Satan. He hates us. He roams the earth seeking whom he will devour.

This is why we are told in Scripture of the Importance of wearing the armor of God:

The Whole Armor of God

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

“Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Brethren, if there was peace on earth then why would the Lord tell us how to be dressed for battle? Because this is not our home, and because Satan is on the prowl – looking for those who are not grounded in God’s Word. He looks for those who have been sitting under and believing heresy preached from the pulpits.

The Word of God is called “The Sword of the Spirit.” When the Word is corrupted by apostate teachers, the sword is made dull and is of little use. It is also vulnerable to be changed. For example, the Social Justice gospel has used God’s Word and corrupted it.

That is why it is of utmost importance to be like the Bereans – receive what you are taught gladly, BUT compare the teaching to the Word of God to make sure that what you have been taught is so.

God sent His only Son to earth for one main reason – to die on the Cross as payment for our sins – all of them. When Jesus said “It is finished” the debt was payed in full. But, unlike those who believe in Universal Salvation – those who are saved have repented (agreed with God that they are sinners in need of a Savior (Jesus) and have trusted in the finished work of Christ for their Salvation.

Do NOT believe in Universal Salvation. This is found NOWHERE in God’s Word.

There’s no peace on earth, but there IS peace in Christ.

Shalom b’Yeshua
