Message from the Father

Message from the Father
By Dennis Huebshman

How many times have I heard someone say, “I can’t be forgiven for what I’ve done.” First and foremost, let me tell you why you feel this way – and yes there is a reason. Satan is using one of his great lies on you. “You’re not worthy, and never will be”; “Look what you said/did”; “Who in their right mind would ever forgive you” – sound about right? How about, “Don’t worry, you can always accept Jesus Later. Why go into all that now?” This and “there’s many ways to Heaven, so why be so narrow minded?” just about wrap up his agenda. Problem is, the world is still falling for every one of these every day.

Let’s look at these just a bit closer. How about answering one question for me; when our Lord and Savior was on the cross, How Many Sins Had You Already Committed? So, if Jesus died for our sins, wouldn’t that mean ALL sins? He didn’t say everything you’ve done except for that time you……fill in the blank.

There is only ONE SIN that leads to eternal death, Lake of Fire, outer darkness and that is to not accept His sacrifice and deny He is our Savior (John 3:18 for example). That is essentially saying to the Father that Jesus wasn’t worthy to take away our sins; his sacrifice was meaningless. Is that something you would like to say to God? I wouldn’t!

One more point, if you believe you can do anything to gain your own salvation through works, you’re saying His sacrifice was inadequate. To think you can buy the salvation is insulting the generosity of the Father.

It is a free gift – Period. What do you do when you receive a gift: Do you tell the giver, “Wow, thank you, how much do I need to pay you for this?” Also, when you get a gift, you OPEN it and not just leave it lying around. If so, then it isn’t officially accepted.

The Father will not force you to accept forgiveness and eternal life, but He will allow you to choose the path to hell – eternal suffering and outer darkness. He will not send you there for any other reason, but rest assured to go there will be your own choice.

All who call on the name of the Lord Will Be Saved! (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13) My Bible (ESV), and all the versions I have studied do not add an “except” clause with these verses. It’s a promise of the Father, and He always keeps His promises.

Therefore, All who refuse to call on the name of the Lord, will NOT be saved.

That is the straight and narrow given in John 14:6. Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except by me.”

Also, Jesus came to the Jews when he was born, but He came for ALL to be our Savior. He fulfilled prophecy to prove God keeps His commitments by being born into the line of David. Yes, He came to save God’s chosen people, however His grace and God’s mercy extends to everyone – All who will accept Him. Even many of His chosen rejected Him, and this is evident even today.

So what about those sins you’ve done? Pretty bad, huh. Really despicable. Totally unworthy of ANY forgiveness. Well, how about Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” OOPS! Another excuse shot down.

Don’t forget, the Grace of the Lord gives us something we don’t deserve. The mercy of the Father keeps us from getting what we do deserve. That’s unless you reject the Grace and then there’s no Mercy!

For those who think Jesus can be by-passed, just a couple of verses to check out. John 3:18 and 1 John 5: 10-12. There are numerous others, but these two are specific that if we have the Son we have the Father, and if not, we have neither. Accept Jesus, you have the Father, Reject Jesus, you are alone.

It took me a long time to get this right, and I ask people to benefit from my stupidity.

Raised in a Christian home, but never really accepting what was offered. This is a major problem today, especially with the youth.

I had listened to an untold number of sermons, songs, testimonies, etc. about Jesus, but didn’t really know Him. Today, I look back on all the times I could’ve been taken from this earth, and realize just how merciful the Father has been to me. I finally hit a down-swing in my life, and at that moment allowed the Holy Spirit to get a message through to me. I believe there were prayer warriors that were praying for my soul. I realized in that moment that if I had died prior to this, I would have to face the Father at the Final White Throne Judgment, and my forever would have been horrible.

I called out to my Savior and this was before I read the Bible for myself. I had faith at that moment He would forgive me as I heard so many times in the past.

I began to read His Love-Letter and went through several translations until I found one I am comfortable with. I learned what I needed to know about the Savior, and why I Love Him. Romans 5:8 told me He loved me first. I learned the whole 66 books is about the Love the Father has for all of us, and even an evil person like I had been. I learned He wanted to forgive me all along, and didn’t put any extra obligations on me or anyone else.

When He says ALL, I have learned it means me too. Yes, I’ve taken on responsibility to share the word through messages or sermons, but it is not to receive any special accolades or rewards other than to let my Jesus know I am grateful for Him in every way possible.

Now, does this mean I can go back to the things I was doing before? No. By accepting Jesus and the Father’s gift of His Precious Son, I have a strong desire to do His will and my previous actions are disgusting to me. Does it mean I will never sin again?

Also, No. I will probably commit sins right up to the moment I leave here, but I know He forgives me because I have asked Him to, and He knows we have a sin nature here that is quite powerful without His help. He knows me better than I know myself.

Finally, how about satan’s greatest lie? We discussed some pretty big ones, but the worst of all is, “You have plenty of time.” Question, how many people do you know that can guarantee, without a doubt, just how much time they have left?

Working in the medical field for a bunch of years, I witnessed people of all ages, races, religions and whatever go into an emergency room and not leave alive. I can assure you most of them did not get up that morning believing it would be their last day.

Please let me emphasize – and I’ve said it before – to not make a decision for Jesus before you pass is to reject Him; to say maybe is a rejection; to say later is a rejection. I’m not saying anyone I’m speaking to fits into any of these categories, however only you know for sure. If there’s ANY doubt, repeat ANY doubt, make sure you are right with Jesus this very minute.

You don’t have to tell me or anyone else about it, although I would think you’d want to shout it out. There is not any reason to go forth from this moment without knowing that you belong to Him, and will be with Him forever!

One final word, we don’t know the day or hour of His coming to gather His Church (Rapture), but only the Father. It will happen in the twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:52) According to 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18, we are told how this will take place, and it will be instantaneous. At the end of the tribulation, every eye shall see Him coming in all His Glory! Those who went to Him in the Rapture will be returning with Him. It is so easy to accept Jesus and be saved, but in our nature we are skeptical and believe there is more we need to do.

Call on Him, ask His forgiveness, tell Him you need Him in your life as your Savior, and He will accept you. The only stipulation is you mean it. Just saying the words doesn’t get it done. Realize you will be starting out as if a new child, and start reading the Love Letter the Father has provided to you daily and call on Him to give you more wisdom and understanding. With this in mind, we can say Maranatha – Come Lord Jesus!
