Grace of Jesus and Mercy of God

Grace of Jesus and Mercy of God
By Dennis Huebshman

(Originally submitted earlier this year, however with all that’s going on in the world, it’s a good time to refresh this. It’s closer today more than ever, and another major sign has been completed. If we are the generation which will see the Savior take His Church home – and I believe with all my heart it is – then the moving of the capital of Israel to Jerusalem is significant along with the 70th. Anniversary of Israel once again becoming a sovereign nation. Jesus said that one of the signs was the fig tree blooming (Israel Return) and the generation that saw it will not pass before His return. A generation in the Bible is approximately 70 years. This has been modified to bring it up to the present date.)

Grace – Given Blessings we do not deserve.
Mercy – Not given punishment we do deserve.

We have a marvelous and awesome God who loves us beyond anything we can imagine. He hates sin – all sin – and one day will start a 7-year cycle of wrath on this earth. He sent His Son to die for us so we could be worthy, through Jesus’ blood, to be saved from the wrath and eternal separation from Him.

He is giving everyone that accepts Jesus an eternal home with Him. Note: everyone means everyone. There is none so unrighteous that He will not forgive them.

Those who accept this Free Gift will be saved. Some have said, “You don’t know what I’ve done.” No I don’t, but God does and is willing to forgive all sins except one. The unforgivable sin is not accepting Jesus as your Savior. Period. This is made very clear in John 3:18; John 14:6 and 1 John 5:10-12 just to name a few verses. Forgiveness as spoke of in 1 John 1:8-10 applies to you if you have asked Jesus to come into your heart and want to turn from your sinful life to become one of His own.

This is a promise, and God cannot lie. (Hebrews 6:18.)

The way to Him is absolute and is Straight and Narrow. All who say there are other ways to Him except by Jesus are wrong and Hell-bound. (Re-read John 14:6) Many professing to be Christian really are not because they are seeking other ways than this.

Here is the plain and simple fact. Jesus died in our place so we would have the perfect sacrifice. He was raised from the dead on the third day conquering sin and death. There is only one true God. Note: It was Jesus, not allah, buddah or any other self-professed deity that died for us.

God accepted His Son’s sacrifice and ALL who accept this Gift will be saved. (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13) When I say gift, that’s just what it is. No one can earn or buy it. Turn down the gift and you will get God’s wrath. We are saved by Grace not works (Ephesians 2:8). We deserve the punishment our Savior endured on the Cross, but because God accepted His sacrifice, we are given Mercy for our sins that we cannot ever pay for.

Many people try to add more than what is needed thinking they will impress God. Won’t happen. Admitting we are all sinners (Romans 3:10 and 33); accepting the gift; asking His forgiveness and inviting Jesus to be your Savior is it. Very simple, but most of the world will not do this.

Jesus came to this earth as a man, but always was and always is God. He said He and the Father are one and has always been there. This was shown In John 1:1-4. The Holy Spirit makes up the third part of the Trinity, and even though no one can fully explain this, by Faith we know it to be so.

We do not know the day or hour Jesus will come for His Church – true believers – but it could be at any moment. If you say you’ll accept Him later, that’s a NO. If you say maybe, that’s a No. Mark 8:38 and Luke 9:26 say, “For is anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the Glory of the Father with the Holy Angels.

Eternity is forever. Your life here is but a blink of an eye. Do you want to chance spending forever in The Lake of Fire – which is a real place?

If you want a place in the Bible to start, I recommend the book of John followed by Romans. I also recommend a translation that is easy to understand such as New American Standard or English Standard version. Please don’t put it off. Jesus is ready to add you to the Book Of Life right now.

Come Lord Jesus – Your Children are Waiting!
