Don’t Compromise, Don’t Be Ashamed

Many Christians attempt to appease those who are of a different faith or embrace deviant lifestyles, but that means compromising God’s truth. They reject portions of God’s word in order to pacify certain groups and in so doing they are virtually thumbing their noses at God. The Bible openly states who God is, what He expects of us, and what He did to redeem His creation. Sadly, many Christians willingly compromise God’s truth in order to not make waves. Why is it so easy to deny our God rather than stand on the Gospel truth? Are you ashamed of Him? “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16. When a believer becomes ashamed of the Gospel he will display definite signs of being embarrassed by God’s truth. That’s when he feels it necessary to change, re-interpret, and corrupt the word of God. Many Christians do this so that they won’t lose a friend, or won’t have trouble at school or work, or not ruffle the feathers of those who embrace the various religions and deviant lifestyles of this world. Being politically correct becomes more important than being Biblically correct and the result is that God’s word is compromised. Many so called Christians have found it convenient to “line item veto” the scriptures that don’t jive with what the world dictates. Standing firm on God’s truth doesn’t mean we show anger to those who oppose Him; we stand firm but show love.

Throughout history man has tried to create his very own god. All he needs to do in order to conjure up a god is to focus his mind on that goal and suddenly demonic lies become a religion. These demons are invited to take the throne man has created for them and they are more than happy to facilitate man’s desires. Then God’s word is compromised. God asks “To whom will you liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.” Isaiah 46:5-7. God is not an idol created out of gold or silver. Man shamefully tries to compromise God Almighty by embracing the idols of this world and false religions. That is pure foolishness. God is alive, He loves us, He sacrificed Himself for us, and He deserves better from those who call themselves Christian.

False gods include the god of Islam, the god of the Mormons, the god of the Jehovah Witnesses, the god of the New Age, the god of Buddhists, the god of Darwin, the god of secular humanism, and any other man-created god. Have you ever noticed that all false religions deny the deity of Jesus Christ? These religions all sound demonic to me. God says “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3 and we need to heed His word. To compromise our faith so we can be more acceptable to other faiths or those who glorify deviant lifestyles is absurd. It’s blatant disrespect for the Creator of the universe. God, the God of the Holy Bible, makes it plain as day that there is no other God but Him. If you compromise His truth, you must be ashamed of Him.

Is there any difference between those people in Isaiah’s day and today’s purveyors of falsehoods who are bent on creating their own god and establishing their own religion? Satan plants evil seeds in the minds of rebellious men and women who then attempt to negate the God of the Bible. The next step is easy as the deceived bamboozle the confused into thinking that all sects and cults worship the same God as the Christians. Take Islam for instance. Political leaders and many religious leaders would have us believe Allah is the same deity as God Almighty. Wrong. All it takes is a minimal amount of research to discover that the religion of Islam established its foundation based on a man-made lie. God Almighty…the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the One who walked among us in the person of Jesus Christ…has no equal. His truth must not be compromised to appease satanic lies. In order for a Christian to accept any god except the one true God as described in our Bible, something must be compromised. Christian truth and faith must be compromised if Christianity is melded to any other faith. It just cannot be done. God talked to the Jews through Isaiah and the other prophets, but Christians need to pay attention. “Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me” Isaiah 46:8-9. Brethren, study the “…former things of old” as written in God’s word, which is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Take God at His word and stand firm on God’s precepts. Don’t compromise and don’t be ashamed of Him.

When we say yes to Jesus Christ we’re saying “Yes I believe You, I believe Your word, I believe in what You did for me”. There is no option to believe one scripture verse and dismiss others. God’s word tells us “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” John 1:1-3. This parallels the account of creation in Genesis chapter 1. John goes on to tell us “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14. Jesus is God, the Creator, and He “was made flesh”. As Christians we cannot compromise this point. If we deny that Jesus is God, we have compromised and relegated Him to the same status as an idol. If we deny God as the Creator by accepting evolution (which DNA alone proves false) then we are ashamed of Him and place man’s opinion above God’s truth. In order to stand up for Jesus we must have a solid and sound foundation to stand on. If we poke holes in the Bible then we are only destroying our own footing. Make no mistake, if your biblical foundation is wrought with holes sooner or later you will fall for any deception.

The Christian who compromises his/her faith by promoting the false assumption that the God of the Bible is the same god of all religions is not only calling God Almighty a liar but they are also giving false hope to those lost people who embrace the lies. If you compromise who Christ is before a Mormon or Jehovah’s Witness you are aiding and abetting in their spending eternity in Hell. Nobody can get to Heaven without Jesus as their Savior. We can do nothing by our own merit to earn our way into Heaven – Jesus already did it. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. How can a Christian compromise that point? There is no other way to attain eternal life in Heaven than through the death, burial, and resurrection of God Himself…Jesus Christ.

There is a huge difference between “religion” and faith in Jesus our Messiah. Religions are all works based, from Roman Catholic rituals and popes to Mormons knocking on your door. Jesus requires zero works as a prerequisite to obtaining salvation, only belief. Since Jesus is God Almighty He won’t have anything to do with false religions other than call the lost to Him. He’s not a part of the “bridge builders” whose desire is to join all man-made religions together by insisting everyone worships the same god. Christianity is not a man-made faith. All attempts to unite the world under one ecumenical system are satanic. The only Name that will secure us our own inheritance in Heaven is Jesus Christ, the one and only God of all creation. “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain” 1 Corinthians 15:14. No man-made religion serves the risen Saviour. The Christian faith cannot be compromised and remain the truth. Never be ashamed to stand firm on the truth.

Any compromise of God’s truth has its roots in the deepest darkest depths of Hell. A Christian who compromises God’s word is a willing advocate of the devil…ashamed of our God. As Satan continues his opposition to God we see his focus is on getting Christians to doubt God’s truth and become ashamed of it. Many Christian’s have stopped studying God’s word and therefore don’t really know what they claim to believe. That allows for Satan’s agenda to cause confusion which leads to compromise. Brothers and sisters, stand firm on God’s truth. Once again hear what the Apostle Paul says. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16. If you are ashamed, you will compromise.

Recently I have seen articles about an interfaith conference which will soon take place at the Vatican. Along with the pope, the attendees will be Russell Moore, of the Southern Baptist Convention, Rick Warren, of Saddleback megachurch, as well as representatives of Jews, Islam, Buddhists, Hindu, Jaina Shasana, Taoist, and Sikh religions. The only thing Christians have in common with these religions is that we are all sinners. The difference is Christ. Christians are sinners saved by grace. We cannot join together with false religion, but they need to be taught the Gospel. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20. Jesus had conquered death and these were His last words to His followers before ascending to Heaven. We need to reach out to the lost and bring them to saving grace through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ…unashamed with no compromise.]
