The Rapture Report – 8/27/2018 – Is Trump taking Palestinian right of return ‘off the table’?
By Chris Schang

While reviewing various news articles on the Internet for our news forums, I came across a very interesting article that talks about the “next steps” for the Trump administration in the process to the “peace plan” between the Israelis and the so called “Palestinans”. The news report is stating that the Trump administration will be soon, as in a matter of days, announcing their opposition to the “right of return” of so called Palestinian refugees and their descendants to Israel. The “right of return” has been a big thorn in the side of all of those who have tried their luck in making peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians. The article comes from the Jerusalem Post and reports:

The Trump administration will oppose Palestinian claims to a “right of return” for the descendants of refugees from modern-day Israel, according to an Israeli television report broadcast on Saturday. The Channel 2 report claims the White House will announce its stance on the refugee matter – one of the core sticking points in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict – sometime in the next few days, ahead of the start of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Administration officials did not respond to requests for comment on the veracity of the report. But the report claims that the administration will state fewer than one million Palestinians should classify as refugees, diverging dramatically from United Nations Relief and Works Agency statistics claiming more than five million Palestinians qualify for refugee status.

Israel was very pleased with the reports on the new American position on the so called “right to return”. The Jerusalem Post article went on to further state:

MK Israel Katz commended President Trump upon hearing the Channel 2 report. “I congratulate Donald Trump on his decision to retract his recognition of UNRWA and ipso facto cancel the recognition in the Palestinian right of return,” said Katz. “This measure joins the historic decision to transfer the US embassy to Jerusalem and as such annuls two UN resolutions. This is a great victory for the State of Israel.”

US President Donald Trump’s peace team has repeatedly questioned UNRWA’s mandate, and accuses the organization of perpetuating the conflict by treating the descendants of refugees as refugees themselves.

Palestinian Authority officials have warned in recent days that Trump seeks to end the refugee issue. Israel has long held that the Palestinians seek two Arab states – an Arab state of Israel and an Arab state of Palestine – by flooding the Jewish state with the descendants of refugees under claims of a “right of return.”

Washington’s longstanding position has been to support “two states for two peoples” – one Jewish state, and one Arab state. The Trump administration has not taken a position on the two-state solution.

The Palestinian “right of return” is based on the flawed assumption that members of the initial refugee groups (which number less than 20,000) AND their numerous descendants (numbered around 5 million) can be counted in the total number of refugees. The so called “Palestinians” claim they have this so called “right to return” to Israeli lands even though they voluntarily left on their own free will. The “refugees” left because they were “guaranteed” victory by the Islamic leaders before they had their behinds handed to them by Israel. These failed wars were the Islamist attempts to destroy Israel just as she was reborn as a nation in the ancient land just as Bible prophecy had predicted beforehand.

In fact, there was no existing nation in the land at that point much less one called “Palestine”. The attempt to label descendants as part of the total number of refugees is not normal operating procedure by the UN in regards to other conflicts around the world. The truth is that this is conveniently being done in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict due to the anti-semitic nature of the UN and the Islamic world as it relates to Israel. In other conflicts around the world, no other group’s “descendants” make up the refugee group. Only in the case of the Israeli-Palestinian situation is this being done and is clearly a satanic attempt to undermine Israel’s right to the land.

I think when you couple President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel with this new report that they are getting ready to remove the “right of return” from the table, we can see that President Trump is trying to take care of the biggest issues up front before releasing his “peace plan” to the world. The issue of Jerusalem and the right of return have been two of the biggest obstacles to a peace deal between the Israeli and Palestinians. By taking on the major issues off the table upfront, President Trump will be able to move quickly to the issues that have not been as much of a problem in the past. This is in their thinking a better path to making a “peace deal” between Israel and the Palestinians. However, I think students of Bible prophecy are able to see that peace is not going to be made right now. There are other prophetic events that must take place before the “peace” deal between Israel and the many (including the AC) as mentioned in the Bible.

I think we are entering an interesting time period where things could reach a peak in regards to the Israeli-Palestinian issue. With Russia, Iran, and Turkey involved in Syria we can clearly see that the prophetic stage is being set for the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Some tend to see Psalm 83 as a potential prophecy to be fulfilled in the near-term future. If it is indeed a prophecy, I could see the outrage on the part of the PA and the other Iranian proxies over the peace process as being the fuse that sets the prophecy in motion. But even if Psalm 83 is not a prophecy, we can see that things are definitely getting interesting on the ground and is moving towards some sort of conflict in the future which could include Ezekiel 38-39. While I believe that there are some other players that need to come on the stage before Ezekiel 38-39 can happen, we are surely able to see that the prophetic puzzle pieces are slowly but surely coming together. I think we would be well off to keep an eye on the Middle East over the next few weeks to see what happens.

In the meantime, we should pray for Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem. Until next time, keep looking up for the blessed hope of Christians everywhere as we see that time is indeed getting short and nothing needs to happen before the rapture of the church.

God bless.
