The Rapture Report – 4/22/2018 – Report: US seeking Arab force to replace its troops in Syria
By Chris Schang

With all that has gone on over the past couple of weeks in Syria, there are some very interesting things that may happen in the near future. One of those things is President Trump’s desire to remove U.S. forces from Syria. President Trump campaigned on getting our troops out of the 6 year long civil war and he wants to make good on his campaign promises. That makes sense and is understandable. However, the President Trump’s military leaders are advocating that he should not pull U.S. troops from Syria. France and some of our others allies feel this way, too. Probably the chief of them is Israel.

The feeling with our allies and military leaders is that if we remove the U.S. troops from Syria that we are essentially handing Syria over to the likes of Russia and Iran. Israel is very worried about this and with good reason. President Trump is apparently leaning toward pulling out of Syria and having the power vacuum filled with Arab troops from various countries in the Middle East. While this may seem like a good idea to the President, I think others are right in thinking that this is a bad idea. The fact of the matter is that these Arab troops are not ready or able to stand up to Russia and Iran. I think the Arab troops would end up being rolled over and end up ineffective allowing Russia and Iran to completely take over Syria with Assad’s blessing. I think Assad is practically willing to do anything to stay in power. Even if it involves handing over a good amount of control to Russia and Iran.

There is an article that came out earlier in the week that talks about this. It is from the Israel National News website and it reported the following:

The Trump administration is seeking to assemble an Arab force in Syria that would replace the US military presence there, US officials told The Wall Street Journal. According to the officials, the administration has asked Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to contribute billions of dollars to help restore northern Syria, and wants Arab nations to send troops to the area.

In line with the plan, the officials said that new National Security Adviser John Bolton had recently called Egypt’s acting intelligence chief Abbas Kamel, to see if Egypt would play a role in the effort.

According to the report, the goal of the regional Arab force would be to work with local Kurdish and Arab forces that the US has been backing to ensure that ISIS does not make a comeback in northern Syria, and Iran does not consolidate control in areas previously held by ISIS.

On Sunday, the White House reiterated its desire pull US forces out of Syria as quickly as possible, and called on Arab countries to take greater responsibility in securing the region.

“The US mission has not changed – the president has been clear that he wants US forces to come home as quickly as possible,” White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders, quoted by Reuters, said, responding to French President Emmanuel Macron’s claim that he had convinced Trump to keep US troops in Syria “for the long term.”

“We are determined to completely crush ISIS and create the conditions that will prevent its return. In addition we expect our regional allies and partners to take greater responsibility both militarily and financially for securing the region,” she added.

It appears from the article that President Trump wants the Arabs in the region to play a greater role in securing the region – both militarily and financially. President Trump is not a fan of the U.S. playing the role of global policeman and at the same time paying for it as well. This is logical and would appear to be a good economic move. However, there is more than meets the eye here. I think that President Trump wants to make good on his promise to remove U.S. troops from Syria, that this will in turn speed up Bible prophecy now that Russia, Iran, and Turkey are all actively engaged in Syria.

With the “Big 3” of Russia, Iran, and Turkey fighting in Syria, we are seeing the three main players of the Ezekiel 38-39 war moving into various positions in Syria. While the other countries mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39 need to fall in place eventually, I believe that we should be amazed at how these countries are coming together for the first time in history right above Israel. The prophet Ezekiel’s words appear to be coming alive right before our very eyes. But before this prophecy is fulfilled, it would seem that there are some other things that may take place before or at around the same time as Ezekiel 38-39. The main ones appear to be the situation with Isaiah 17 and perhaps Psalm 83.

Isaiah 17 speaks of the destruction of the capital of Syria – Damascus. The prophecy seems to foretell the sudden and permanent destruction of Damascus. As many of us have seen lately in the news, Assad and the Syrian armed forces have been using chemical weapons against his own people. Assad has also been very aggressive and confident in his new found military abilities thanks to Russia and Iran’s help. I think that if Assad got cocky enough, he could try to strike Israel in some way with these chemical weapons.

I remember reading back years ago that Israel had warned Assad that the use of chemical weapons against them would be a red line and one that would cause them to destroy Damascus. If this is indeed the case, it could be that one day soon Assad might feel that Israel would not follow up with their threat with Russia and Iran actively supporting him in his country. I think this is a possible scenario, but it is one that we will have to wait and see what happens. But I think it is just one of a few scenarios where Assad may make a fatal miscalculation.

On the other hand, if the Psalm 83 scenario is indeed a prophecy, it could be that things go downhill for the immediate enemies of Israel like Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. and Assad tries to intervene by launching a chemical attack and ends up paying a terrible price by losing Damascus. Which in turn could trigger Ezekiel 38-39. I tend to think something big will happen to cause the Big 3 of Russia, Iran, Turkey and the “many peoples with thee” to make their move on Israel. After all, the many people with thee will involve moslem countries from Africa, the Middle East, and possibly the former Russian republics to make a move on Israel. I think something big will have had to have happened for this to be fulfilled. I think only time will tell and that we would be wise to keep an eye on Syria.

I don’t know how the exact details will work out, but we are seeing enough on the ground that we know Bible prophecy is in the process of being fulfilled. It’s just a matter of time. Which is why we need to keep watching what is going on in the Middle East. Things are moving fast enough that if you blink you might miss something.

As always, keep looking up, for as we see these things happening we know that our redemption is drawing nigh!

God bless.
