Victory in Jesus

Victory in Jesus
By Dennis Huebshman

Victory in Jesus – My Savior Forever! He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood. (1939 Eugene Monroe Bartlett, Sr.)

Bible verses for today: Galatians 1: 8-10; Galatians 2: 20-21; John 3: 16-18; 1 John 4: 10-12; 2 Timothy 3:16; John 1:1-5, 14; Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13 (or as otherwise noted.)

Getting started, get into the Word of the Lord daily. The above verses are great for getting your interest, and if you’ll just read a chapter or two daily you can be inspired all day long. If you will do this for 21 days, you will form a habit; 3 months and you will form a lifestyle. It may be a bit of a push at first, but soon you won’t feel right if you miss even one day of reading. You may even put a Bible APP on your phone.

Most important – get a version of the Bible that you can be comfortable with. For some, King James is difficult to read and understand, so maybe a New American Standard would be better. My personal preference is the New English Standard, though I have read most of the others. It’s whatever you can read and understand that counts most. Also, it would be best if you have a “Study Bible”. It will give you explanations of passages at the bottom of the page, and reference places to look for similar topics.

To some, hearing the name Jesus is totally unnatural unless it’s used as a cuss word. It’s difficult to grasp that the Creator of the Universe wants a personal relationship with us. It goes against the grain that Our Father would send His Son to die for us, for sins we’ve committed and all that’s asked in return is to believe in Him and accept the gift. It’s just not normal for us.

For many, they refuse to look past this life and believe it’s only a speck of time compared to eternity, and just won’t deal with it. They will have an eternity, but a miserable one. By the way, no matter what anyone believes, EVERYONE has an eternity, and how comfortable it will be is entirely up to each person. For the Saved, we know God is real, and have made the choice to accept Jesus.

It doesn’t matter how old a person is, and it’s never too late to get your reservation for a Heavenly Home as long as you haven’t taken your last breath on this earth. Once that is done, your eternity is sealed.

It does take a bit of effort, but nothing that’s too difficult for anyone. The hardest part is believing and trusting that Jesus is really God’s Son and a part of the Holy Trinity – Father, Son, Holy Spirit – and that He came to earth and died in our place for our sins. You have to accept Jesus as your Savior and ask Him to forgive you. That’s it.

Today, there’s too much “Prosperity” preaching; too much “All religions are the same”; “We all worship the same god”; and too much “entertainment” religion. These are false concepts and are misleading many people.

Jesus knew this would happen. Apostles Peter, Paul and John wrote about false prophets and antichrists, and that in the last days there would be scoffers about His coming (2 Peter 3:3-4) That’s happening in a large way today. He is not late or behind schedule. We’re told He is patient, but He won’t wait forever. (2 Peter 3:9)

God and Jesus and Holy Spirit are:

Omnipresent – everywhere at once.
Omniscient – all knowing.
Omnipotent – all powerful.

Jesus is our Savior, Redeemer, Lord of Lords, King of Kings. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, made the lame to walk, the mute made able to talk, and He raised the dead.

Finally, He’s your Best Friend! He didn’t have to leave His home in Heaven for us, but He did. He didn’t have to suffer and die for us, but He did. This is what pure love is all about. I want to share Him with EVERYONE and ANYONE who will accept Him.

“Through it all, through it all, I’ve come to trust in Jesus; I’ve come to trust in God. Through it all, through it all, I’ve come to depend upon His word.” (2003 Andre Crouch)

The final two verses given at the beginning of this message say the same thing; “ALL who call on the name of the Lord will be saved”. (Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13) When the Lord mentions something more than once in His letter, it has to be important. To die without accepting Him is to choose eternity separated from Him in the Lake of Fire.

Just think, God could have made us in a way that we would be forced to accept Him, however this would not have been true love. So, he gave us the power to make our own choice. Satan wants to tarnish that choice by constantly reminding us we are not worthy of such a love. Thing is, he is right. I can safely say I am far from worthy for God to love me, but I have accepted His Son as my Savior, and therefore have His promise to forgive me.

When God looks at me, He sees the perfect sacrifice My Jesus gave at Calvary, and in that light, I stand Redeemed. God sees me, and Jesus reminds Him that I am one of His and my sins – ALL not just in part – have been covered by His blood.

Great news! This offer is not for me alone, but for every human that has ever lived on this earth. There are none so far lost that the love of the Father can’t reach them – If They Accept His Offer. He is an Awesome God, and He wants you to be with Him forever. Choose wisely, choose today!
