Who Rules your Life?

Who Rules your Life?
By Don Twobears

As we look around ourselves these days, we see that many are not willing to call anything “Wrong or Bad” and by the same token, far less are willing to call anything “SIN”. As adults, each of us know all too well, what SIN really is and yet this distinction has not stopped the masses from engaging in the practice of it. Even our leaders (elected or otherwise) engage in things we know are SIN and then do so openly, as if no one cares what is or what is not SIN. They do not care whether it is “Right or Wrong”, as a matter of fact, flaunting these acts in public, brings them some measure of happiness! For what reason do they continue, from Prominent Generals to Certain Individuals seeking Political Office?

2 Timothy 3:1-7 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

We have talked about these verses of Scripture before, yet in light of the “Current Events” taking place all around us, we need to review them again and again. Keeping this Scripture in the front of our minds will ensure that we do not delve in that practice, we are to be separate, remember?! I am sure many, if not all, have heard the expression “Well such-n-such did it and their an official!” As if the mental association with the Official, makes SIN acceptable, which we know is not acceptable with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 6:16-18 “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

Today, we are consistently exposed to the “Narcissism” of others and we know we are to be different, we are to loving and yet keeping those of this caliber at arms length, if not farther. We belong to the Lord and by that alone, we must endure many things, that might seem to contradict what the Bible tells us to be. The Scripture above, distinguishes that which we should be according to the Lord, after all, is the Lord the one we should be following and endeavoring to be more like? If the Lord is against SIN, then we must be also and as matter of fact, the Lord hates SIN…are we to be likewise? It is then, for us to be “Christ Like” for the rest of the world to see and let the Lord shine through us. This will not take place, if we compromise our beliefs of what constitutes SIN according to the Word of God!

This is not to say, we are the individuals that should be “Bashing others for their Iniquity”, we are not to judge anyone, we are as fallen as the rest of humanity! The difference is that the Lord covers our SIN with HIS Blood from the Cross of Calvary, thereby, HE is the only qualified Judge. Please remember;

Matthew 7:1-5 “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”

I am not too sure everyone understands, that to allow a certain thing, is to be making a judgement about that act, by you. With that in mind, what if the act is SIN? Please re-read the Scripture above, then re-evaluate your position with the Lord and what must you do next. By the same token, what if something is going on in our Government, which you know is against what the Lord would allow, in other words, we know it to be SINful. How are we to react to this and by what means? Are we to jump up and down and storm the Capital or White House? Are we to picket and have “Sit-Ins”? What are we to do the instant we recognize something wrong taking place in our Government? How about hearing our knees hit the floor, as we clasp our hands, in Prayer, before the Lord God Almighty!

So what can we expect, if we do nothing? Again, please see the Passage of Scripture above, especially the Underlined. Have we forgotten the Lord is Omniscient (All Knowing) or that HE is Omnipotent (All Powerful) or that HE is Omnipresent (Everywhere all at once)? If HE sees the SIN of others, will HE not see your indifference to that SIN? The reason this is so difficult to understand, is that we are NOT like our Lord and Savior, we are Humans! We are the Fallen! As yet we have not gone to the Lord in Heaven, we are still flesh and blood, the bags of fluid and bones and our abilities are Finite! Having understood that, we are not able to see, or know, or to be like our Father in Heaven, we MUST rely on HIS Perfect Will, to be brought to bear against the Lost…for their SIN. We must be sure, that we do not include ourselves in their actions, for or against, but rather to bring the issue to the Lord in Prayer!

Many times the Apostles and the Lord discussed many things and they were able to witness the actions of Our Lord and Savior. Therefore, Since the Lord is in Heaven, we must rely on Our Faith Through HIM to carry us forward and through these many things. By this, I mean to say, we are to discuss these issues with Our Father In Heaven, HE wants to hear from us about all things, YET….leaving the results for HIM to determine and deal with.

We must understand that we are NOT to judge others, but to allow the Lord to use HIS Wisdom of the situation and Protect us as HE does so. That is what our Position should be! It is for others to see, that our actions and the Intent of our Hearts, is to relinquish all things to Power to the Lord. It should never matter what these “Others” think of us, good, bad, or indifferent. Is it not enough, for you and I to want to Please the Lord with our lives and our actions?! In my estimation, I would rather please the Lord and die as a human, than to hurt my Lord in any way!

Matthew 10:28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

All emboldened Scripture is by the author for emphasis.
