“Oh my Lord!! Is it already 5:30 in the morning?! I feel like I just laid down!” your thinking?! So up you jump and head for the Bathroom, you have 30 minutes to get your shower out of the way and then to get dressed. And we need to really look our best today! A litany of buyers will be wanting to see the new houses and we must unload a few of them or no bonus! No bonus and we will be scraping the bottom of the bucket again this month! Which reminds me, I need to get to the Grocery store some time today, I need to make a list this morning. Besides that, Carrie has an appointment at that hair-dresser tomorrow, Black nails and tons of make-up, what else will she come up with next! And to think she’s only a freshman in High School! And that reminds me, I have to find a tutor for Connor in his Math! Yee Gods and little fishes, barely a “C”?? What is that boy up to anyways, beside his play-station and whatever new game there is?! We have got to have a sit-down with him about his grades! All of this as you head to the bathroom, right?!
Lets see, what do we have for the kids lunches?! I really need to get to the Grocery Store, we are about out of everything! Okay, maybe waffles for breakfast, PB and jelly for Conner…does that girl ever eat anything any more?! Too fat, my…wow…watch your mouth now! You think to yourself! And Jerry, is he going to have a cup of coffee and run out of the house again?! We simply can’t keep buying our lunches every day, it’s such a waste of hard earned cash! That reminds me, I need to get the Lexus Detailed either this afternoon or tomorrow and there goes another $100 bucks! $50 dollars for lunch, they should at least serve it on gold rimmed plates for that amount! I know, I know! Jerry is a big Manager now! For all that expense, he ought try selling homes for a living! See how that works out for ya buster, think you work so hard every day! Ya ought step into my shoes now and then! Oooh wee! I need a new pair of shoes to go with that new outfit I bought yesterday, I can’t forget that! So now your out of the shower and putting on your make-up!
And that reminds me! Why does Jerry get the new truck?! My Lexus is what? Three years old?! I have a image to push forward here, those fancy homes aren’t going to sell themselves ya know! That piece of metal almost fell off yesterday and it clanged and clanged! It was embarrassing! And if Carrie thinks she is going to get a whole new wardrobe to go with all that make-up and stuff…she has another thing coming, that’s for sure! And to think, she wants that weird hair-do! We are going to straighten that little girl out real quick! $100 dollars for a strange “do” and the..the coloring…what does she think we are?! Made of money?! Oh! I almost forgot, there’s some bills we need to get paid and we need to pay them today, that’ll be at the Grocery store too! I’m glad everyone else has a time to punch in and punch out! I sure don’t! And now you head for the kitchen as you don your clothes and shoes!
Only coffee again today! I need to have those plans on the bosses desk before he arrives this morning! I need to get moving here! Trish is going to have to deal with the kids now, I simply don’t have the time! I need to get the truck into the dealer for that oil change, either today or tomorrow! I can’t let that lapse, that’s for sure! That truck sure got Carl next-door envious! HA HA!! Big Orthodontist and his wife is a DDS?! Big deal! They just have two BMW’s!! Those will never trump a Ford 350 Dually! Oh crap…look at the time! I Gotta Go!! A kiss for Trish and I am out the door!
The kids finally get to the morning table…one has her iPhone glued to her ear and the other one has his nose buried in his tablet! “Hey you two!! Good morning! Put the electronics down and eat! We have 15 minutes before we have to leave, let’s get a move on! Don’t forget your lunches!” They look at each other like I just stepped off of a new planet! “Waffles again Mom?! Whatever happened to real food, you know like eggs and sausage?!” Conner grumbles! I just give him a sour look and that ends it! “You are going to study big-time this evening young man! A “C” in math! And you want a new game?? Yeah right!” And then you roll your eyes! “Why do I always have to study, Carrie never does?!” Conner grumbles. “She is not making any “C’s” I reply! And so the morning has begun and the kids are off to school. “Oh my!! I’ve got 10 minutes to get to that first showing!” And so your off to work as is usual and your still wondering how all that time got away with you.
Does any of this sound like a morning in your household? Do you get in that slump, where there never seems to be enough time, for whatever needs to be done?! Every single day is the same, Rush, rush, and then you rush some more?! So much needs to be taken care of, by everyone in your house and in the end, it never seems to get done?
Whatever happened to the days, like those of our parents. Dad sits there and reads the morning paper and eats his breakfast, Mom is in the kitchen, the kids are slowly eating their cereal and reading the back of the cereal boxes? I remember many days like that! My Dad was in the military and my Mom was a house-Wife and all us kids had to do, was to go to school and learn. Everything seemed so simple and so much easier to deal with, back then or was it just me?
Your right! We had a rather simple home, nothing too fancy or elaborate and it was on the base as well. We were usually up by 0600hrs (6:00am) we always ate breakfast and we also took our lunches with us, so did my Dad. No one really ate their lunch out anywhere and it never seemed to make any really difference, one way or the other. That was how we lived. So why are things, the way they are, now days, what has changed, why the constant rush every where?
In my Home, we had a Prayer before we ate. And that was normal as well. Yet in these days and times, that would be almost unheard of. People no longer take the time to Thank the Lord God for the blessings of the food HE provides for us. That my Friends…is very strange for me. Yet again, there is never any time for the things we want to get done, the things we must get done. It seems everything is always a Traffic Jam of sorts…right?!
Even today, my Wife and I take the time, to Pray and thank the Lord for all that we have and that’s because HE deserves our thankfulness. Actually HE deserves…a lot more than our being Thankful. You are able to take the very next breath of air…because of HIM. We forget that the Bible tells us;
John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
Yes I realize that many of you are Born-Again to the Lord! Still, we SIN if we don’t look to the Lord in every way possible, if we instead, rely on our own abilities. We should never forget the Story about the “Rich Man and Lazurus”, because it stands as a reminder, that WE need Jesus Christ, that WE are the “Fallen Species!” Jesus Christ came here to earth to DIE on that Cruel Roman Cross for you and I, not the other way around! It would appear that too many people do not give the Lord God the Thanks that HE so richly deserves! Thus their days, hours and minutes resemble that of the people above and then they wonder why their lives seem like such a Train-wreck! For them, it never gets any better!
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Jesus Christ is the only person that is able to change your world, your life and your destiny! For one, it would seem that everyone is only able to see…their own little lives! Yet they never once take any real time and examine how their lives are going, where are they headed?! They don’t want to think of the day, that they are going to die! And yet, that day is inevitable!
How much more time are we going to waste, how many more days, before we realize that our lives here on earth…have always belonged to the Lord God?! How long will it take, before we see that it is for you and I to change and follow Jesus Christ, otherwise our Eternal Destiny will be in suffering and pain?!
Other than the Lord Jesus Christ, the only thing possible is Eternal Torment, for NOT following HIM! How much more time are you going to waste, following your own ideas and never getting any where, really fast! You have up and until your moment of Death…to choose Jesus Christ…or NOT! After that, your Eternity will be according to what you chose! Once again…remember…Eternity is FOREVER!
What do you think Funerals are for anyways?! To make sure and remind you…that you have a decision to make and it is for you and you alone!
