Tribulation after the Rapture

Tribulation after the Rapture
By Chris Schang

One of the most promising things the Bible teaches is that of the pre-trib rapture. This essentially means that there will be tribulation after rapture or that the wrath of God will be poured out only after the rapture has removed the righteous from the earth. As we all know, mankind is not righteous, however, those believers who trust in the Lord Jesus’ atonement for sin have God’s righteousness imputed to us by grace through faith. This is an extraordinary concept that shows both God’s mercy to mankind but also so his righteousness as he demands justice for wrongdoing. We are all born sinners, but through he mercy of God we are given a chance at redemption if we will only accept his payment of our sins on our behalf.

The Tribulation period is a time where God pours out his wrath among unbelieving Israel as well as unrepentant sinners. This tribulation after rapture serves to judge and punish unrepentant mankind. The Bible makes it clear that the church is not destined to wrath:

1Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

As we can see from the above scriptures it is God’s desire that we all come to faith in his remedy for our sins which is the completed work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. By accepting Jesus’ atonement, death, burial, and resurrection we are made righteous in God’s eyes. This acceptance of God’s free gift of eternal life will qualify us for the rapture of the church. The rapture of the church is a special and secret event whereby the Lord Jesus returns in the air and calls all believers to him. The Bible also promises that this secret rapture will take place before the dreaded tribulation period. The Tribulation period is a time of God’s wrath, and the Bible clearly teaches that God never poured out his wrath on the righteous, which will include the church as the church is made righteous by grave through faith in Jesus. The tribulation after rapture will only occur to those who are unrighteous and have not accepted the free gift of eternal life offered by Jesus.

The rapture of the church is the is our blessed hope of being spared from the wrath to come. It is God’s promise to us. The rapture is also imminent which means that if can happen at anytime. However, the dreaded tribulation period can not happen until the church has been removed from the time and place of the coming wrath of God. This is clearly taught in the Bible and is why there will be tribulation after the rapture. God has never once poured out his wrath on the righteous and since God never changes, we can have faith that the tribulation will only occur after the rapture.

It is my sincere hope that all who read this will take a moment to make a decision for the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus has paid the penalty for our sins he has borne the weight of them all, which is something we could never do on our own. He did this because he loves us and wishes to have an eternal future with us. God desires that none should perish, but that the come to salvation through Jesus Christ. Won’t you make that wonderful decision today and know that you are saved by the precious blood of Jesus Christ? Do it today, for we never know what tomorrow holds.

God bless.
