The Pre-Trib Rapture In Acts 15:13-18 By Jack Kelley A number of people have wondered…
What is the Pre-Tribulation Rapture theory?
By Chris Schang
Question: What is the Pre-Tribulation Rapture theory?
Answer: The pretribulation rapture is the glorious event described in the Holy scriptures in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. These verses describe the resurrection of believers, both dead and alive, from earth to Heaven. The Lord will descend from Heaven to the air, with the trumpet sound of God, and will call all believers to him. From there the church will go on to the marriage supper of the Lamb and to the Bema seat judgment to receive crowns and awards for the things done in this life since being born again. The scriptures from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 states:
1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Another passage that describes the pretribulation rapture are those from 1 Corinthians 15:50-54.
1Cr 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Cr 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Cr 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Cr 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.
1Cr 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
We know the pretribulation rapture will occur before the tribulation period as the Bible is crystal clear that the church is not destined to wrath, but to salvation in Jesus Christ. This is clearly spelled out in 1 thessalonians 5:9:
1Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
The pretribulation rapture will happen some day soon as time is clearly running out in these last days. Please do not put off the task of making a decision for the Lord. Eternal destinies hang in the balance as time is running out. One day soon, life on earth will change drastically as millions upon millions simply vanish into thin air. The world will likely try to explain away the rapture, but for those who have heard about the event they will realize that they waited to long and will now have to wade through the most horrible time in the history of mankind – the Tribulation period. Don’t go through the Tribulation period, take the first flight up in the pretribulation rapture.
