The Rapture Report – North Carolina religious studies professor, ordained minister says ‘no shame, no sin’ when getting abortion
By Chris Schang
In another sign that the level of depravity in our society is ramping up, there comes an article that says that a religious studies professor in North Carolina is saying that there is “no shame, no sin” in killing an unborn person.
The falling away of the true teachings of God is slowing but surely increasing here in the end times. I have very little hope for churches that take a liberal and progressive stand on the Bible. Not only do they support abortion, they also support things like homosexuality and same sex marriages. This article shows why the church is in such bad shape these days in most areas of America.
A Fox News article goes on to report:
A North Carolina college religious studies professor and ordained minister is reportedly on a “mission” to tackle the abortion issue to “shift the cultural paradigm that abortion is sin,” according to the Religious News Service [RNS].
Rev. Rebecca Todd Peters is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church and a professor of religious studies at Elon University. Peters’ other work includes leading the Abortion and Religion project. An advocate of reproductive rights, Peters shared her own personal story of getting two abortions.
Further…
On July 9, 2023, Peters spoke to a group of women at a Unitarian-Universalist church in Chapel Hill, N.C.
“Abortion makes many people profoundly uncomfortable,” she said to a Unitarian Universalist congregation during a lecture at the Community Church of Chapel Hill.
“I felt God’s presence with me as I made the decision to end two pregnancies and I felt no guilt, no shame, no sin,” she told the congregation in Chapel Hill. “A forced pregnancy or birth is not holy.”
Her speech came after Gov. Roy Cooper signed into law new abortion restrictions that will ban abortions for pregnancies past 12 weeks, down from 20 weeks.
This “professor” is very wrong here, and it is disturbing to see someone who sits in a position of authority at a college use something evil like abortion and try to whitewash it. It is impossible to do so. Sin is sin and nothing can ever change that.
God has made it clear that He does not change. His Word also does not change either. What was wrong yesterday to God is wrong today and tomorrow. Too many wolves in sheep’s clothing have caused great cognitive dissonance within the church body. This professor is definitely not using the Holy Spirit here.
Finally…
According to her website, “her work as a feminist social ethicist is focused on globalization, economic, environmental, and reproductive justice.”
She claims to be a preacher and teacher who is “particularly interested in issues of reproductive health, rights, and justice; poverty and economic justice; and privilege, globalization, and solidarity,” her website states.
Her website also features her “Sermons about abortion” which includes the caption “Abortion is a moral and social good & many good Christian women have abortions.”
“Blessed are those who end pregnancies,” one of her sermons is titled.
Well, I don’t know what to say here. This is ridiculous in so many ways. The phrase “blessed are those who end pregnancies” is just absolutely sick to the core. This woman has certainly forgotten that God’s commandment was to “go forth and multiply”. When you kill your own offspring, you are not multiplying, you are subtracting. This article makes me want to throw up. How such an evil person obtains a position they are in is beyond me.
Today, we are seeing so many people who are compromising the Word of God for their own feelings, thoughts, and beliefs. The have traded the sure Word of God and replaced it with the word of men. The Bible says that many in the end times will follow their own lusts, beliefs, and do what is right in their own eyes. The hearts of many will grow cold in the end times as people depart from the faith and follow their evil desires.
Folks, please remember to pray for the unborn, who are the most vulnerable in our society, and to pray that that women like this professor is remove from their positions of influence.
Keep looking up!
