The Rapture Report – Democrats, Celebrities, and Left-Wing Groups Call for Radical Plans to Defund the Police

After nearly two weeks of non-stop protesting and riots across the country over the George Floyd situation, we are starting to hear from far left-wing groups about how they propose to rectify the problem of police brutality. Some ideas being floated around and being considered by Democrats and left-wing nutjob mayors is the idea of defunding the police. Yep, you heard that right. Defund the police and replace them with social workers, non-violent community activists and de-escalation experts, etc. in order to replace the police.

So, in other words, the next time you have a violent criminal trying to break into your house or business, just call your friendly unarmed community de-escalation activists and expert who will swiftly (or not) come over to talk reason with your intruder. This is your typical leftist thinking run amok. The lunacy of the left-wing nutjobs never seem to cease to amaze me.

When trying to promote crazy left-wing ideas and put them into practice, the “progressives” have to march out their “Hollywood celebrities” to sound off and give their blessing to each “far-left” idea. Right now, there seems to be no shortage of “A-list” celebrities willing to climb onto the defund the police movement. I saw one poster on Twitter who said to do it and within one hour they will be calling back for the police. I agree, but then again in order to spite President Trump they would probably hold out for a few days (or just a few hours) and then blame Trump somehow while calling back for the police.

Breitbart News website is reporting that:

Singers John Legend and Lizzo, and actresses Natalie Portman and Taraji P. Henson are among the Hollywood celebrities who’ve signed a letter pushing the defunding all police departments in the wake of the police involved death of Minneapolis man George Floyd.

The open letter claims that in 2017, $194 billion was spent on the police by America’s various governments even as police have “continued profiling, harassment, terror and killing of Black communities.”

Black communities are living in persistent fear of being killed by state authorities like police, immigration agents, or even white vigilantes who are emboldened by state actors. According to the Urban Institute, in 1977, state and local governments spent $60 billion on police and corrections. In 2017, they spent $194 billion. A 220 percent increase. Despite continued profiling, harassment, terror and killing of Black communities, local and federal decision-makers continue to invest in the police, which leaves Black people vulnerable and our communities no safer.

The letter — which was also signed by Common, Jane Fonda, America Ferrera, Brie Larson, ACLU executive director Anthony Romero — goes on to insist that the money spent on police would be better spent on “building healthy communities,” or to go “to the health of our elders and children, to neighborhood infrastructure, to education, to childcare, to support a vibrant Black future.” The letter was initially started by the organization going by the name Movement 4 Black Lives, along with Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors.

“She’s excited about joining, and [last week] she was up in Minneapolis protesting outside the fourth [police] precinct,” the activist added. “But we need every single musician — black, white, Asian, whoever — to show up right now. We’re not going to change what’s happening between law enforcement and black people until everybody shows up to change it.”

While no one objects to decreasing police brutality, the truth is that police brutality effects everyone. It happens to people of White, Asian, Black, etc. origins and no one is immune from it. I have personally seen videos on YouTube and websites where white suspects were treated and killed just like George Floyd and no one has gone out to riot and demand justice for them. Police brutality is often the result of bad behavior on a few rogue cops who spoil the bunch. I would say that the overwhelming vast majority of police officers are appalled and sickened by what we saw with the George Floyd situation. Police work is very dangerous and stressful work. While it is easy to blame the police and demand “justice” we need to spend MORE money on police training and to help get rid of “choke hold” moves used by the police across the country and the Minneapolis police officer who killed George Floyd. The “Defund the Police” movement sounds good on paper, but it will be a nightmare if any crazy liberal left-wing mayor or governor tries to implement it.

If Black Lives Matter to Democrats and liberal left-wing groups, they would work with everyone to help reduce these incidents by providing more training, not resisting police officers and doing as the authorities say when pulled over, work towards increasing community neighborhood watches to help reduce crime, etc.

What about all the black (and white, asian, etc.) lives lost in the abortion mills that take place every day? What about the innocent lost lives like the St. Louis retired police officer who was gunned down mercilessly and left to die on the sidewalk of a pawn shop? Do these lives matter? The way the Democrats and left-wing groups act it does not appear that they do not. And that is sad. Racism and police brutality are real problems due to sin, but far more lives are lost in abortions that targets black lives. If racism exists in America, I think its strongest foothold is in the abortion clinics, rather than the police department. After all, more black lives are lost in the abortion mills than by your local police officer.

Rather than “progressives or the woke crowd” playing the race card at every chance, we need everyone to work together so that ALL LIVES MATTER. And they do! The truth is we need the police and it is EVERYONE’S responsibility to create change and make the police better. As long as there is sin in the world, we will never have a perfect police force, political system, etc. There are always those who will do the work of criminal deeds. There will always be police officers that have gone bad. There will always be religious leaders that have gone bad. There will always be politicians that have gone bad. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world. Defunding the police is the last thing we need to do. I am glad to see that President Trump showed his support for increasing funding of police and training to help combat the problems like police brutality.

The only solution to our world is Jesus Christ. We can strive to make the world a better place, but it will always disappoint us. We will always disappoint ourselves as well. Until the Lord Jesus Christ returns and put an end to the sin problem, we will continue to have situations like the ones that have taken place over the last two weeks. We need prayer and repentance of our sinful ways. Our nation needs to repent and turn back to God. Our young people are out of control and it shows.

Sadly, Bible prophecy tells us that things will get worse until the end of the 7-year Tribulation period when God pours out his wrath on unrepentant sinners. With all that has gone on the last couple of weeks, we can see that the time is getting shorter before the return of Jesus Christ. Which means that the rapture of the church that happens before the Tribulation period is even closer.
