Earlier this week an article came out that estimated that the Hezbollah terrorist group in Lebanon has about 120,000 missiles aimed at Israel. This information was relayed at a UN Security Council meeting by Danny Danon, the Israeli ambassador to the UN. The Israel National News site reported:
The UN Security Council held a special meeting today (Tuesday) on the situation in the Middle East.At the meeting, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon revealed new intelligence information which included aerial photographs of a village that was converted into a terrorist stronghold, as well as details concerning Hezbollah’s armaments.
“The village of Shakra in Southern Lebanon has become a stronghold for terror, one in every three buildings there is being used as terrorist infrastructure, which includes launching pads for missiles, weapons piles and more,” Danon said.
“Hezbollah didn’t stop here; it chose to locate its stations near schools and other public facilities, in doing so putting innocent civilians in danger.” Danon emphasized that “it is the responsibility of the UN Security Council to remove Hezbollah from Southern Lebanon.”
The number of missiles that Hezbollah has is pointed at Israel is beyond imagination. And this of course does not even account for the ones Hamas has in Gaza. To give you an idea of how severe this number is the Israel National News put it in perspective when they said:
In the course of the meeting, Danon presented details which showed that Hizbollah possesses more missiles underground than all the European countries of NATO have above-ground put together. Danon also noted whereas in 2006 Hezbollah had 7,000 missiles, today Hezbollah currently has more than 120,000 missiles pointed at population centers within Israel.
While the UN Security Council continues to sit on their collective hands and Israel seems to face this evil by themselves, we can confidently know that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is fully aware of everything about Israel and their enemies.
The Bible tells us that Israel is in the land to stay. Israel is the only nation in the world that has existed, then was dispersed among the world, and then was brought back into the land a second time just as the Bible prophecised. This clearly shows the hand of God at work in the His dealings and promises with Israel.
It won’t be easy as Israel faces its enemies that are on their immediate borders, but God has promised the Jews in Israel that they will remain in the land despite all odds against them. We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for Israel as we see the coming days getting darker and darker.
I would imagine that with the “peace process” almost completely derailed, that the day is coming soon when Israel will face this threat from their enemies. We need to continue and watch as the situation on the ground unfolds. It’s getting bad enough that if you blink, you could miss something.
As we see the prophecy puzzle pieces falling into place, we need to remember to stay sober and keep looking up, for our redemption is drawing nigh.
