Oregon Gov. Blames ‘Climate Change’ for Fire Started by Homeless Meth Addict

Global warming can do everything. Including cause homeless meth addicts to start fires. And cause Democrat politicians to refuse to enforce the law turning over their state to the ravages of homeless meth addicts.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) on Sunday denounced as “absolutely unacceptable” the scores of deaths in her state as a result of the recent record-setting heat wave in the Pacific Northwest.

Portland, Ore., hit a record high temperature of 116 degrees on Monday, smashing its previous record of 107. The “heat dome” event led to dozens of deaths and hospitalizations in both the U.S. and Canada, many of them in communities where a majority of residents lack air conditioning.

At least 95 deaths have been reported in Oregon as result of the heat wave, and Brown said that “our communities of color, our low-income families are disproportionately impacted.”

If only the Democrats hadn’t sold out the interests of working-class people to the Big Green lobby and made electricity and air conditioning too expensive.

Or, as a Time Magazine article recently concluded, “The troubled history of air-conditioning suggests not that we chuck it entirely, “To do so, we’ll have to re-orient ourselves to the meaning of air-conditioning. And to comfort. Privatized air-conditioning survived the ozone crisis, but its power to separate—by class, by race, by nation, by ability—has survived, too. Comfort for some comes at the expense of the life on this planet. It’s time we become more comfortable with discomfort. Our survival may depend on it.”

People in France die by the thousands because they don’t have air conditioning. This is the nightmare that Democrats are inflicting on America.

The Biden administration is pushing to raise the price of air conditioning. And Oregon is ground zero for eco-nuts.

If Gov. Brown wants someone to blame for minorities dying because they can’t afford air conditioning, she can call out the environmentalist lobby which is obsessed with enriching Big Green, putting more cash in Al Gore’s pocket and the pockets of green finance, while people die.

But Brown is blaming global warming.

“We have been working to prepare for climate change in this state for a number of years,” she said. “What was unprecedented, of course, was the three days of record-breaking heat, and it was horrific to see over 90 Oregonians lose their lives.”

She added, “We literally have had four emergency declarations in this state at the federal level since April of 2020. Over Labor Day last year, we had horrific wildfires. They were historic. We lost over a million acres, over 4,000 homes and nine lives.”

Many of 2020’s fires in Oregon were manmade. Like the one started by a homeless meth addict.

A homeless man accused of setting a fire that damaged and destroyed homes near railroad tracks in southern Oregon has been indicted on more than 30 charges.

A grand jury indicted Bakkela Tuesday on two counts of first degree arson, 15 counts of first degree criminal mischief, 14 counts of recklessly endangering another person and one count of possession of methamphetamine.

Bakkela has a long criminal history in Oregon, including several drug and traffic convictions. He remained in custody at the Jackson County Jail as of Wednesday morning.

Clearly the fault of climate change. And by climate change, I mean people starting fires.

Through July, humans have caused 90% of fires this year in Oregon. That’s a jump from the yearly average of 70%, said ODF public information officer Jim Gersbach.

Time to raise the price of electricity and air conditioning some more while blaming the heat deaths on global warming.
