New Mexico Suicide Bill Broadens Right to Play God

I’m going to open this up with a statement that may be controversial to some of you, but shouldn’t be if you understand Scripture.
As a Christian, I fully support the death penalty for certain crimes, especially for murder.
Please bear with me as I explain.
In the Old Testament, God handed down a number of laws that went far beyond the Ten Commandments. Among those laws were a number of penalties that resulted in a death sentence. Among them were murder and homosexuality.
Many Christians claim that Christ changed everything by fulfilling the Law and that we no longer are obligated to follow the Law. They need to re-read their Bible. While delivering the Sermon of the Mount, Jesus stated:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-19.
Jesus fulfilled and replaced the Temple Law, but the rest of the Law is still in tact and therefore the laws that say what crimes deserve death are still in effect.
Now that I’ve stirred some of you up, realize that I believe that abortion is murder in the first degree and those who perform abortions should be held accountable and forfeit their lives.
The same is true with doctor assisted suicide. Yes, I understand someone’s desire to end their life to avoid pain and suffering and from fatal illnesses like cancer. I would not want to go through such an ordeal either, but that does not make killing oneself, with or without help, the right thing to do. In fact, it amounts to premeditated murder, and this includes doctor assisted suicide.
Oregon was the first state to legalize doctor assisted suicide under certain circumstances, back in 1997. Since that time, 6 other states (California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Oregon , Vermont and Washington) and the District of Columbia have also legalized some form of doctor assisted suicide.
Montana has the most restrictive laws of all.
New Mexico is contemplating their own doctor assisted suicide bill, House Bill 90, but theirs may be the most liberal and broadest of all, giving many more people the right to murder someone, as Alex Schadenberg, Executive Director of Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, told OneNewsNow:
“The bill expands who can do it. It allows nurses, and it allows physicians’ assistants to do it. It allows it for mental health reasons.”
“Here, it says if you have mental health issues, so long as a psychiatrist or psychologist or social worker signs off you’re good to go.”
“It allows it by telemedicine, meaning that if you contact the euthanasia doctor by phone and discuss it with them, they can sign you off and prescribe it to you. It eliminates the six-month general diagnosis, so it uses this definition, which is totally undefined for terminal illness that you are terminally ill in your foreseeable future.”
The further America turns away from God, the more they want to assume the rights that solely belong to God. Man rejects God and then tries to become as God.
