Majority of Black New Yorkers Think Eliminating Bail was a Bad Idea
By Daniel Greenfield
Much like police defunding, lefties might want to check with the constituency they claim to be protecting.
In this poll, a majority of black respondents agreed with most other New Yorkers that eliminating bail was bad for New Yorkers.
60% of white people, 44% of Latinos, and 46% of black people all said that it was bad.
Only 30% of white people, 41% of Latinos, and 39% of black people thought it was good.
Women, 56%, were more likely than men, 52%, to say it was bad.
When it came to the question of whether the bail law increased crime, 46% of black people said that it did increase crime, only 34% disagreed.
Everyone knows that failing to lock up criminals results in more crime.
