Kamala Harris: I Accused Democrat Nominee of Racism for “Politics”
By Daniel Greenfield
Remember when Senator Kamala Harris accused Joe Biden of supporting racial segregation and implied that she would have been forced to pick cotton in the fields of Berkeley, with her wealthy parents if Biden had gotten his way.
Good times.
Now Kamala is pretty much a lock for the Veep spot for Joe and she has an explanation.
When former Sen. Chris Dodd, a member of Joe Biden’s vice presidential search committee, recently asked Kamala Harris about her ambush on Biden in the first Democratic debate, Dodd was stunned by her response.
“She laughed and said, ‘that’s politics.’ She had no remorse,” Dodd told a longtime Biden supporter and donor, who relayed the exchange to POLITICO on condition of anonymity.
“Dodd felt it was a gimmick, that it was cheap,” the donor said. The person added that Dodd’s concerns about Harris were so deep that he’s helped elevate California Rep. Karen Bass during the vetting process.
1. Chris Dodd, the former MPAA boss and waitress sandwich participant, is the last person to be talking about cheap gimmicks or picking out binders of women for Biden. Especially since one of the reasons Biden needs a female VP is to stave off accusations of sexual assault.
2. Let’s face it. It is politics. Kamala is honest and open about that.
And that’s also why Democrats accuse Republicans of racism. It’s politics. It’s a way to score cheap points with an accusation that the Dem base believes, but that its leaders don’t.
The real problem here is that Kamala doesn’t have a good answer as to why she did it when the media gets around to really asking her. And answering, “that’s politics” would expose the game that the Democrats have been playing.
