Kamala Hails US “Alliance with the Republic of North Korea”
By Daniel Greenfield

Being VP isn’t hard. It’s like being a member of the British royal family. Just go to events that the president can’t go to. Read your prepared speeches. Rely on your massive staff to do the prep for you. And try not to say anything horribly stupid.

It’s a low bar that Kamala Harris can never quite seem to meet.

“The United States shares a very important relationship, which is an alliance with the Republic of North Korea,” said the veep, flubbing the official name of longstanding US ally South Korea, the Republic of Korea. “And it is an alliance that is strong and enduring.”

Obviously, everyone knows what she (presumably) meant. Equally obviously, this makes American leadership seem stupid, inept and unworthy of being taken seriously in Asia.

The problem isn’t that Kamala misspoke, it’s the perception that this administration can barely tell apart the country we’re supposed to be defending and the one we’re technically at war with.

And if we can’t do that, how much credibility do our foreign policy or military commitments have?
