In Coral Springs, Florida, the Destruction of Israel is on the Ballot

On November 3rd, Coral Springs, Florida voters will decide who they want as their next City Commissioner. On the ballot is Noor Fawzy, a local civil litigation attorney, who claims to be devoted to the clean governance and betterment of Coral Springs. However, that is only half the story, the part she wants you to hear and believe. The other half is a deep-seated commitment to the destruction of Israel and the spread of anti-Semitism. This is the second election in a row where an Islamist with disturbing associations has ran an innocent-looking campaign for this same position. It seems to be a pattern, and the public has a right to know the truth.

Noor Fawzy, a self-described Palestinian-American, has a lengthy history of involvement in radical organizations and activities. According to Canary Mission, a website devoted to exposing individuals and groups that promote hatred of the United States and Israel and which did an extensive profile on Fawzy, these organizations include Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC).

Fawzy is the former President of SJP at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where she helped establish the SJP chapter. SJP is the brainchild of University of California, Berkeley professor Hatem Bazian, who, in April 2004, called for an intifada (violent uprising) inside the US. SJP is notorious for its harassment and intimidation of Jews and others on American campuses. As SJP President, Fawzy and her chapter were no exception, initiating a March 2012 project that reportedly targeted Jewish students at FAU with the placing of mock eviction notices on their dorm room doors. Fawzy claimed that it was a way to highlight Israel’s home demolition policy. Other events featured grotesque scenery, such as dolls dressed up as bloodied dead babies.

While with SJP, Fawzy issued threats against Israel and her civilians. In August 2011, Fawzy threatened the Jewish state’s very existence, stating, “Israel’s US-sustained criminal, immoral, and inhumane oppression of Palestinians will not guarantee its existence in the near future.” In November 2012, while sympathetically referring to Hamas as “the resistance,” she threatened, “Rest assured that in this war and the next, and the next and the next… Israeli civilians will continue to pay the price of their leaders’ mistakes…” About her group’s activities, Fawzy gleefully exclaimed, “We’re being monitored by the Anti-Defamation League! Woooooo!!!!!!”

According to her LinkedIn page, beginning in June 2015, Fawzy served as a Legal Intern for CAIR. CAIR was founded in June 1994, under the leadership of then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. CAIR has been involved in the financing of Hamas, and a number of its officials have been convicted of and/or deported from the US for terror-related crimes. As well, in November 2013, Fawzy became a Research Assistant for the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC). As stated by counter-terror expert Steve Emerson, in his famed work American Jihad, “MPAC’s many rallies and sponsored events reveal implicit support of terrorist activities.”

During Fawzy’s run for City Commission, no part of her illicit, pro-terror background has been brought up by either her or her opponents. It appears that Fawzy is hiding this very important, divisive and significant segment of her life from her voter base – a voter base that includes a large Jewish population.

This is not the first time a radical Muslim has sought the position of Coral Springs City Commissioner. Indeed, this took place just this past year, when Khurrum Wahid, the founder and Co-Chairman of Emgage, an Islamist group that tries to pass its extremist agenda off as political advocacy, attempted to gain a seat on the Commission. He too was evasive about his links to terror, until they were exposed by this author in print and video.

Wahid, like Fawzy, is a South Florida attorney. His profession has allowed him the ability to represent many of the world’s most violent terrorists. One in particular, now-deceased Miami imam Hafiz Khan, was convicted of providing tens of thousands of dollars to the Taliban in Pakistan, where Wahid is originally from, for the specific purpose of killing US troops overseas. Wahid used his law firm to raise money for both Hafiz and his son Izhar, who was also charged in the crime and whom Wahid has referred to as a “rising star” and a “sweet kid.” According to the Miami New Times, Wahid himself was placed on a federal terrorist watch list in 2011.

When this author revealed this information to the public, during Wahid’s Commission run, along with proof, Wahid, in an effort to silence dissent and squash the facts, put out statements, via his campaign, calling me a “racist” and “Islamophobe.” In the end, the voters decided against him, as he wound up in a not-so-distant third place, receiving just short of 1400 votes. But while Wahid lost, given his history, 1400 votes is too many to engender complacency.

In order to ensure that Coral Springs voters can make an informed decision, the disturbing and extremist backgrounds of candidates like Noor Fawzy and Khurram Wahid need to be exposed and publicized for all to see. So far, they have gotten away without any media scrutiny, manipulating the political system and promoting their candidacies behind a wall of deception and lies.
