Election Process Needs Nehemiahs to Battle Clever Devils

Election Process Needs Nehemiahs to Battle Clever Devils
By Dr. Robert Youngblood

C.S. Lewis wrote, “Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make a man a more clever devil.” Unfortunately, if clever devils decide to destabilize the foundations of America during the 2020 election, they already know many ways to do so and have already set some processes into motion. As a reminder of vigilance combined with recognition of the nature of sin within man, one old proverb says, “Lock your door and keep your neighbor honest.”

Too many doors are open and unlocked which can cause a stolen election. America needs a Nehemiah now – probably multiple people – as our republic risks being routed by rabble-rousers.

Just like in Nehemiah’s time when people saw Jerusalem in disrepair and at risk of destruction, many have seen this in parts of America’s election process and have been praying.

“O Lord, I beseech You, let now Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants, who desire to fear Your name.” – Nehemiah 1:11 (KJV)

Oddly, each side claims a moral high-ground, with the Democrats even stating it is a “moral imperative” they win. Each side finds fault and sin with the other, which is biblically accurate, as it clearly says in Romans 3:23 all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory and standards. Each side believes the other will cheat to win, so protecting America’s election system should be vitally important to all.

Neither person winning will matter if the trust in the system is broken in this battle.

Unfortunately, the battle this year isn’t just between the parties, but it is over possibilities like that of a debate; in voting processes; about voting booths; about ballots without security features; about how data is gathered, It is about the courts, about mail-in ballots being different than absentee ballots; the mailrooms, the mail routes, the mail. It is about the minds and how they understand the Electoral College, how media and social media influence; about the battle of creating perceptions that serve political bias best even if they are not true. It is about claiming to promote safety from tiny viruses and malicious mankind at the polling booths. It is about influencing the final count.

How much of what is promoted as fair is for fairness’ sake versus the desire to win no matter the cost?

All in all, it is about affecting the final count, and each side has people on it, the clever devils, who are willing to do whatever is necessary even as they corrupt any remaining moral fortitude they may hold while potentially destroying our nation.

What would this honest election look like? It would be one which is a fair, fraud-free, and fully functional election representing one vote for each living, legal U.S. citizen who has registered to vote so the Electoral College can occur within the bounds of the Constitution. Yes, some will remain divisive no matter the result, even if it is a landslide.

We need those willing to acknowledge and act by bowing to God’s wisdom, His love, His righteousness, and His holiness. This isn’t bowing to social justice causes, but to the Cause of all creation, God Himself, the only One worthy of such an action.

This is why America needs Nehemiahs now. Through prayers and his desire to serve based on a proper fear of God, he dealt with planning and organizing the rebuilding of the walls of the city of Jerusalem within 52 days. They faced much opposition.

Our situation is worse than that because we have 50 states and only 60 days until Election Day as of 9/4/2020. We need help from God to fix this because there are too many open doors across the expanse of America which need locking to keep our neighbors honest.

How bad could it get?

History shows in 2000, just one state, Florida, with one issue, hanging chads, delayed knowing the winner of the 2000 election by a month. George H.W. Bush battled in court within Florida and all the way to the Supreme Court to finally win Florida by 537 votes, which gave him one electoral vote more than needed (271) to win the presidency.

This was well before multiple organized efforts to warp the Electoral College. Just one effort affects 16 jurisdictions possessing 196 electoral votes between 15 states and Washington D.C. This is the far left’s National Popular Vote Interstate Compact and would give blue states political domination over red while veering America away from the Constitution. It encourages states to agree that whatever presidential candidate wins the national vote gets that state’s electors – even if that candidate loses the state.

It is for reasons like this we need Nehemiahs to help shore up our election walls.

Some are already working, more are needed, and you are needed also. Pray for America to find those people now, read the book of Nehemiah, and be resolved to stay actively involved during and between elections because you recognize the need for righteousness in this. Everyone who calls themselves a Christain should want to be obedient to God and, if possible, to vote biblically with their whole heart in an election process that can be trusted.

While we aren’t responsible for the end result, we are responsible for being faithful to what God calls us to do. God help us because we need Him even when we think we’re self-sufficient. Like Jerusalem in Nehemiah’s time, America needs men and women who will do their part in obedience while working with a master plan for the good of all.

Time will tell (and more quickly than we can imagine) whether we’ve obeyed and acted soon enough.
