Trump: God’s Man of the Hour

Trump: God’s Man of the Hour
Perspective on the News
By Pete Garcia

Unlike Barack Obama’s meteoric rise from obscurity to international stardom seemingly overnight, Donald J. Trump has been on the global stage for decades. Well-known for his global real estate empire, the Miss Universe pageants, and his hit television show “The Apprentice,” then-candidate Trump’s announcement to run for the highest political office in the United States still came as a surprise to many. Even more surprising was his seemingly impossible victory over the queen of the deep-state swamp-things. Many rightly attribute Trump’s miracle victory as just that, a miracle. So if this is divine intervention, then why? What purpose does God have for a crude and narcissistic man such as Donald J. Trump in these final hours of human history?

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.
And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him. Daniel 2:21-22

Still, we wonder that if God truly chooses the leaders (He does according to Dan. 2:21 & Rom. 13:1-7), why then did He allow a lawless man such as Obama to hold office for as long as he did? I believe Obama’s run from 2008-2016 not only served as a form of punishment for America’s sins (i.e., we get the leaders we deserve) but was also meant to cause the counter-reaction that it did by waking up a sleeping American public. Think about it this way, without Obama, there would have been no Tea Party movement. Without Obama, there would not be majorities in both the House and the Senate.

In a normal election cycle, under normal circumstances in America, Donald Trump would not have made it past the first Republican primary. However, such was the angst against the Obamanation-Administration that the average American rose up in one great act of defiance to elect a man such as Donald Trump. Trump broke the rules by calling things as he sees them, and has vowed to undo the past eight years by making America what it once was…a great nation.

God’s Change Agents

I believe that God uses world leaders to accomplish His geopolitical will. That is not my opinion, but Scripture confirms this repeatedly. In our current situation, God will continue to use President Trump to accomplish exactly what He needs to done to set the prophetic stage on this accelerated time-line we find ourselves. The list below are leaders who God used to accomplish specific things that advanced God’s prophetic agenda. This is not a list showing Godly men who stood out in history for being righteous or holy.

  • Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar: God used him as prophetic punishment on Judah (Jer. 21:7)
  • Medo-Persian King Cyrus: God used him to free the enslaved Jews in Babylon (2 Chronicles 36:22-23)
  • Persian King Artaxerxes: God used him to allow Jerusalem to be rebuilt (Dan. 9:25, Neh. 2)
  • Seleucid King Antiochus IV Epiphanes: created an example of what the abomination of desolation would look like (Dan. 9:27, 11:29-35, Matt. 24:15)
  • Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate: God used him so that Christ would be crucified (according to Scripture) (Matt. 27:1-26)
  • Roman General Titus: God used him as prophetic judgment on Jerusalem (Luke 21:20-24)
  • Roman Emperor Hadrian: God used him to finalize the Diaspora (Deuteronomy 30:3-4)
  • British Foreign Secretary Balfour: God used him to set aside the newly freed land of Palestine (as it was known then) from the Ottoman Turks (Ezekiel 36) for the Jews
  • German Fuhrer Hitler: God used him and the Holocaust so that the nation of Israel could be reborn (Isaiah 11:11, Amos 9:14-15)
  • US President Truman:  God used him to be the first leader to recognize national Israel (Isaiah 66:8)
  • US President Nixon: God used him to aid Israel during the Yom Kippur War (Psalm 2:1-3)
  • US President Carter: God used him to begin the judgment/trial period (40 years) of “land for peace” (Isaiah 28:15)
  • US President Trump: God used him to be the first gentile leader in more than 2,000 years to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s sovereign capital (Luke 21:24)

Status Quo

I said our timeline was accelerated not just because of Trump’s election, but also with his willingness to stand on the side of Israel. After decades of politicians speaking out of both sides of their mouth, Trump’s close relationship with Netanyahu is genuine. Because of that relationship, along with his financial means and insider knowledge is why he was chosen by God to be elected. You got to know that politicians on both sides of the aisle have been cozying up to Trump in an attempt to get financial backing during election cycles. He probably has A LOT more dirt on them; then they ever did on him. Still, what would not have happened in the nineties (or earlier) is now evidence that we are entering a time when the political swings will get wider and wider toward the extremes.

Regarding cause and effect, had Ross Perot not entered into the 1992 elections, the Republican base would not have split as it was. That gave an unknown Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton the unexpected victory over the incumbent George H. Bush Sr.

Regarding effect, both Clinton and Bush Sr. were globalists, so in that regard, the change would not have been very significant. However, what was significant was that the bar for ethical and criminal activities surrounding the Oval Office had been lowered to such an extent that a man like Barak Obama could run for the highest office in the land in the first place.

This is how a virtually unknown state senator from Illinois, with a tightly veiled backstory, became President. So mysterious was his pre-Senate history that even to this day, we do not know much (if anything) from his pre-community organizing and university days. Only three written documents he had authored had ever been published publicly before his “autobiographies.” The autobiographies accredited to Obama (Dreams of My Father and The Audacity of Hope) were most definitely the work of a ghost writer(s). He was a committed (and admitted) socialist, pro-Islamic (favoring Shia), and frequently attended a “Christian” church that militantly preached the social-justice gospel for twenty-years. This man then ran the country for eight years.

Juxtaposed too and following closely on Obama’s heels was the election of president number 45, who was populist, pro-business, pro-security, and pro-family values candidate Donald Trump. Those aside, one can only imagine the level of violent agitation stirring against Trump by the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, and spiritual hosts of wickedness (Eph. 6:12) because of his standing with Israel. Every spectrum of society (minus the average American) has been mindlessly pitted against Trump (TDS) because he is attempting to undo what globalist spent a century putting together. The result reminds me of the William Butler Yeats’s poem entitled the Second Coming;

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Apparently, TDS is not just an American thing. The world’s reaction at the United Nations against Trump’s Jerusalem declaration on December 6th, 2017, was predictably anti-Israel. Less unexpected was the sheer number of nations siding against the US over it. More likely, they were siding against Trump on a personal level because he invokes such extreme reactions to his presidency. Had Obama announced Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel and embassy move, I figure more nations would have followed our lead, albeit, reluctantly. Rest assured that from here on out, whatever the 20th-century geopolitical status quo used to be, it has passed awkwardly into the annals of human history.

Great Expectations

If one simply watched the news or listened to the “experts” in academia, government, technology, media, etc., one would be lead to believe that we had the rest of the 21st century (and beyond) to figure things out. One would be lead to believe that we were on the cusp of developing immortality in 20-30 years through either advanced technology or genetic manipulation. One would also be lead to believe that all religions were relative and that eventually the world will stamp out fundamentalism and evolve to the point where we just “COEXIST.” One would be lead to believe that governments around the world were actively working to establish permanent colonies on the moon (and Mars) in which man could travel to if life on earth somehow didn’t pan out.

Moreover, if God allowed us the time, I am certain those experts would be correct (Gen. 11:6). However, according to both Scripture and Bible prophecy experts, “the human race has a shelf-life,” and it is about to expire. According to Scripture, Israel is God’s timepiece, and whatever time mankind has left, is in direct proportion to her status as a nation. Life will simply not continue to go on indefinitely despite what the experts say because none of them (the secular ones at least), ever take Scripture into account. While no one can know the day or hour, our departure (via the Rapture) is coming sooner than we expect. (See 1 Thess. 5:1-11)

Therefore, it stands to reason that the elections of both Obama and Trump were two sides of the same coin regarding the extreme natures of their administrations. Perhaps it is better if we see the administrations as transitions rather than causation leading to the final week of years (the 70th Week). In other words, if Trump was the far-right reaction to the leftist Obama administration, how much further left will the pendulum swing after Trump’s term comes to an end? Even if Trump does last eight years, we know historically speaking, that public political sentiment tends to move in both directions because the centre cannot hold.

Put another way, had John Kerry or Mitt Romney won any of the subsequent elections (post-W. Bush), things would have seemingly gone back to the humdrum of politics as usual. However, with the elections of Clinton, Obama and now Trump, American politics have changed forever.

Traditional politicians say what they need to say for elections, and then proceed to move to the center after their election. They do this to either build consensus or survive the swamp by not rocking the boat (i.e., the bureaucracy and deep-state agents in the beltway). Both Obama and Trump broke the mold regarding their willingness to buck the system. Obama for his lawlessness and disregard for the Constitution, and Trump for his willingness to ‘drain the swamp’ and Make America Great Again.

Trump’s election speaks specifically to God’s intentions regarding the speed and gravitas of the issues at hand. If we remember all the prophecies concerning Christ’s first coming (108 distinct prophecies), most of them were fulfilled in the final week of His life (the Passion Week). As we see things speeding up prophetically in just about every spectrum, we can reasonably presume to be in the final moments of human history given the rapidity and intensity by which prophetic events are happening. We call this consolidation of signs the convergence.

Conclusion

This article is not saying that President Trump is a morally perfect and godly leader. Nor is it saying that he has the theological discernment to stay away from the likes of Paula White or Kenneth Copeland. Trump does not strike me as a man who has ever felt the need to be scripturally discerning. What it does mean, however, is that God is using him to accomplish His purposes just like the other leaders listed above have. Because Trump leans in favor of traditional values and Judeo-Christian principles, he seems to be a leader open to the influence of God and has the willingness to move on particular subjects where it concerns Christianity, Israel, and Jerusalem. In fact, his willingness to be influenced by God’s agenda is about the same (if not more) than Obama’s desire to stand against God. In His omniscience, God uses both types of men; those who support His agenda and those who do not. In the end, they both end up doing what He wants.

So what does the election of President Trump mean for Israel and for the prophetic timeline?

We know from Scripture that by the time Ezekiel 38’s War of Gog and Magog comes to Israel, no other nation comes to her aid. However, a Trump presidency would not turn down aid and arms to our closest Middle East ally. So our absence in this war means that something or someone makes us unable (or unwilling) to come to her rescue. Furthermore, the main actors in Ezekiel 38 (Russia, Turkey, Iran, Sudan, and Libya) all have increasingly complex issues that will force them to act sooner, rather than later. Aging and diminishing populations (Russia), political instability and unrest (Turkey, Iran), and economic starvation (Sudan and Libya) means that Gog/Magog is not something that happens twenty years from now, but much, much sooner.

So yes, Trump is God’s current man of the hour. Just as Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, and the rest were at their appointed places in history. But what about you? We each are appointed for such a time as this to do something only we could do. More specifically, something we were specifically designed, destined, and appointed to do in our spheres of influence. Are you doing what God called you to do? Are you open to God’s guiding hand to lead you in the places He needs you to go? I hope so. Because when you are firmly in the hands of the Creator of the Universe, we become instruments of His righteousness and sovereignty and there can be no higher or gratifying calling than that.

Even So, Maranatha!!
