Introducing Jesus

Introducing Jesus
By Dennis Huebshman

For anyone who has not thought about accepting Jesus before now, and even those who have but need a refresher, this message is just for you. Anyone who has seen a series of books that say, “xxxx for Dummies” I want you to know I believe they all were written for me. I love things to be plain and simple with no hidden meanings and that’s how I always try to present God’s messages. The “preachers” that like to use large words to show how “educated” they think they may be are doing a great disservice to those who are truly trying to learn about our Savior. My email is always included for anyone to ask questions, and I always try to respond as quickly as possible. I believe our time here is very limited, and do not want to waste any precious moments that may be just what someone needs to have Jesus in their lives.

When someone travels to a place they haven’t been before, it’s always good to have a roadmap and guide of that area. A Christian’s guide is the Bible and the writings go back over 4000 years. It’s divided into two main parts – The Old Testament and the New Testament. I like to think of the BIBLE as my Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. There are a total of 66 books written by about 40 inspired men by the Holy Spirit who is 1/3 of the Godhead. The Old Testament has 39 books and the New Testament has 27. By the way, for anyone who says they have studied the Bible and know everything in it are people to be avoided. I have studied daily for over 30 years, and am still learning. I believe we will be learning right up until Jesus calls us home.

The Old Testament is about the creation, the covenants of God for His chosen people, the giving of the Law including the 10 Commandments – Not the 10 suggestions – and prophecies that show future events all the way to the end of this earth’s existence as we know it. It’s also a prelude to the Coming Messiah.

The New Testament starts with the birth of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ, and covers His life through His ministry, death, burial, and resurrection. Also, covered are guides for Christian living and signs about the taking away of the Church (Rapture) and the terrible last 7 years called the tribulation or God’s wrath on unbelievers.

There are a lot of people today that do not and will never believe in Jesus. He knew this would happen and describes a “straight and narrow” way in Matthew 7: 13-14. Thing is, there’s overwhelming evidence He is real but because of satanic influence, people are blinded to the truth. They don’t realize that satan and his demons know and believe Jesus exists; they just don’t accept Him as God. It’s a pride thing and that caused the downfall of satan (Isaiah 14: 12-4).

Some definitions before we get to “How to be a part of Jesus” that may give some clarity to what’s being talked about.

When some one says Church, we immediately have a picture of buildings sometimes with Crosses or other religious emblems on them. However, the real Church is the people who have accepted Jesus and are waiting for His return. In Matthew 16:16-18, Jesus is talking to His disciples when Peter says He was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus said that on this rock (statement) He would build His Church (all Believers). When Jesus comes to take His Church home (Rapture), He will be taking people not buildings – individuals not congregations.

The Word Christ is not Jesus’ last name. It means “Anointed one” or “Messiah”. His earthly appearance was not full of pomp and circumstance as expected and therefore He was rejected by most of the religious leaders of that day. He came to earth to provide a pathway to Heaven for everyone, not just the Jewish people.

Speaking of Religions, Jesus had the most problems with the religious leaders of His time when He was here. He provided guidelines that His followers were to go by, yet the religious leaders would not give up traditions and ceremonies that were man-made. Sadly, about 98% of His people (Jews) do not accept Yeshua (Jesus) as their Savior. Only about 1% – 2% are Messianic Believers.

Christian means followers of Jesus. We were first known as Christians at Antioch in Acts 11:26. Anyone can be a Christian. Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic or any other named religions are just titles of religious organizations, and in themselves do not impress the Lord. Each INDIVIDUAL is going to be judged by whether or not they have accepted Jesus as the Son of God and therefore is God. John 10:30 plainly says, “The Father and I are One”. It’s no problem to belong to an organization such as the ones I mentioned, as long as EACH PERSON is there to worship Jesus as their righteous Savior. If this is not happening, attending these services is a waste of time.

As mentioned earlier, the Bible is the True and inspired word of God. There are several versions that follow the original texts and are great for use. Get one that is easy for you to understand. The King James Version was written in 16th. Century English and can be difficult. New King James version is a bit better but the New American Standard, English Standard Version and New International Version (NIV) are some examples. My Preference is the English Standard Version (ESV) and I would strongly recommend a Study Bible be purchased.

Hell is a real place and is also called Sheol, Purgatory, hades and Lake of Fire. All have the same meaning and all unbelievers from the cross to the end and all who did not do God’s will up to the Cross will be there at the end. Anyone who has already died without Jesus or having been in the bad graces of the Father are already being punished, but are waiting for the White Throne Judgment for their final casting into the Great Lake of Fire as given in Revelation 20: 11-15.

Heaven is the dwelling place of God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Righteous Angels and all saints that accepted Jesus’ gift of Salvation. There is no form of sin or temptation there and it will be beyond wonderful for all who will be there.

The word Salvation gets tossed around and basically it means we get something we do not deserve through the Grace of Jesus and we don’t get what we DO deserve though the Mercy of the Father. It can’t be bought or earned, but is given freely to all who will accept it. Acts 2:21 and Romans 10:13. One thing to remember there is no one righteous for we all have sinned (Romans 3:23). The only person to have lived a “sinless” live on earth was Jesus Our Lord.

How does one accept Jesus? First, just to say a “sinners prayer” as some preachers would have you believe won’t do it. One has to admit they know they are a sinner (again Romans 3:23) and call out to Jesus for forgiveness. This can be done in private and doesn’t even have to be verbal. God can read your every thought. Once you have asked Jesus to forgive you, ask Him to be your Savior and that you accept and thank Him for the gift He gave at Calvary. He Will Accept You if you truly believe in Him. He will have the Holy Spirit come and live in you. From then on, You Are His!

Will you still sin? Absolutely. We will be sinners until the day we leave this earth, but will be forgiven if we ask. (1John 1: 8-10) God will accept our requests for forgiveness if we belong to Jesus and He cannot Lie (Titus 1:2 and Hebrews 6:18)

By the way, you cannot have the Father without the Son. John 3:18; John 14:6 AND 1 John 5: 10-12 are very specific about this. It’s a package deal because the Father Son and Holy Spirit make up the Godhead of 3 persons in one.

Last Point, Ephesians 2: 8-10 says we are saved by the Grace of God through Faith not works. So, for those who say I have been a good person, that’s great. However, it doesn’t get you a home with the Savior. Only by accepting Him as I said will do this.

There’s only 2 pathways and no other options. Believe in and accept Jesus or be prepared to be in the Lake of Fire Forever. There are people out there that are trying to say there is no such thing as Hell, or that God is so merciful He wouldn’t put anyone there forever. Again, Revelation 20: 11-15. All who will be cast there will have chosen it. Don’t’ be among them

Call on Jesus today. His line is never busy, and He won’t ever put you on Hold.

God Bless and Keep You!
