Israel Prophecy

Israel Prophecy
By Chris Schang

An astonishing feat described in the Holy Bible is the modern day re-birth of the State of Israel. This modern day feat is unmatched in the history of mankind. Nowhere in the world has a country existed, been wiped off the map for thousands of years, and the been “reborn” again into the family of nations. However, that is exactly what has happened with Israel. Let us take a look at some of the most remarkable Israel prophecy from the Bible and show how God has supernaturally anticipated this important and astonishing events.

In the Book of Ezekiel there are many Israel prophecies that deal with the nation over the course of the existence of mankind. Some of the most important Israel prophecy deals with the re-emergence of the state of Israel here in the end times. In the Book of Ezekiel the Lord prophecised in the “vision of dry bones” (Ezekiel 37) that in the end times the nation of Israel would arise from the graveyard of nations and become a nation again in their historical ancient homeland. As we know Israel was destroyed in 70AD by the Romans and the Jews were scattered into the world as a result of disobedience and the failure to recognize Jesus as the Messiah.

The vision of the dry bones is an important Israel prophecy in that it is currently being fulfilled daily as Jews from all over the world make “aliya” back to the ancient homeland. Just the other day there was an article in the Israeli newspapers that showed that the State of Israel continues to grow in fulfillment of the prophecies and that the current population in Israel stands at seven and a half million people. This is an astonishing example of Bible prophecy that defies the odds as it has never occurred before on the world scene.

Another example of Israel prophecy being fulfilled today is that the Bible predicted that once the Jews began returning to their ancient homeland that the land would “bloom” and become fertile again. It is widely known throughout the world that the former deserts of Israel have had millions upon millions of trees planted in an attempt to develop what was once barren wasteland that was the former ancient nation of Israel while the Jews were in what is often times referred to as the diaspora – the scattering of Jews into the Gentile nations of the world.

Going back to the planting of millions of trees in Israel the Jews have also become experts at using water in the irrigation of crops. In fact, Israel has been so successful at growing agriculture that the vast majority of many fruits and vegetables grown are sold and eaten in eastern Europe. Israel has become an agricultural powerhouse as a result of their expertise in irrigating fields of crops. In order to do this Israel has perfected the various methods of watering plants by dropping small amounts of water directly above the roots of growing fruits and vegetables. This has allowed Israel to conserve water and make the most of it. As many of you know water is at a premium in the Middle East due to the arid and dry conditions of the region. So it is especially crucial that Israel makes the most of their water supplies.

Other important Israel prophecies that we can see being fulfilled today is that the Israeli armed forces have become an exceedingly great army, so much to the fact that Israel has repelled numerous attacks against it by their hostile bordering neighbors. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are the primary military forces that provide for the defense of the State of Israel. Israel is also a key and valuable ally of the United States, which is the world’s lone superpower. Israel benefits from being an ally of the United States and receives billions of dollars a year on military aid that helps Israel defend herself against her hostile neighbors as well as the numerous terrorist groups that plot her destruction.

While we have only just begun to scratch the surface of Israel prophecy in the Bible, I encourage you to do your own studies on this fascinating topic as it will open your eyes to the fact that God has not given up on Israel. In fact, fulfilled Israel prophecy shows that he is fully committed to doing all that he has declared as it concerns Israel. This includes restoring her to her place of prominence among the nations as well as ensuring her survival here in the end times. God will also see that at the end of the Tribulation period that Israel comes to recognize her Messiah in Jesus Christ. While the near term future is dark for Israel with the looming Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38-39, and Tribulation period still unfilled there is yet hope for Israel and the Jews as God will eventually restore them to glory as his chosen people. He will dwell with them on earth as he has promised.

God bless.
