Eye for an Eye

Eye for an Eye
By J.L. Robb

Twenty-two murdered and sixty-four maimed last night at a concert in Manchester, England. An American idol, performing on stage for a hoard of mostly young, female fans, slaughtered by a perverse ideology that romanticizes murder and claims it is Allah’s will. That, in itself, proves that Allah and Yahweh are two different entities.

Unfortunately, the world in its blindness has let this Islamist cancer metastasize to, possibly, the point of no return. Once cancer gets to the lymphatic system, there is no stopping it other than a miracle.

Why is this happening? How did the world get here?

Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. Deuteronomy 19:21 NIV

When God was giving the Law to Moses, he addressed personal injury in Exodus 21 and the consequences thereof. In the case of intentional injury that results in death, the penalty is death, a life for a life. If the injury is unintentional, the penalty is not death. The justice system was very reasonable, especially for that specific time in history.

God’s “show no pity” statement above pertains to the legal system and not to one’s personal life. Eye for an eye simply meant that the penalty should fit the crime, not too light and not too stiff.

By the time Jesus arrived on the scene, 1500 years had passed since God gave the Law to Moses. The rabbis of Jesus’ day were quick to mete out eye-for-eye judgements, never realizing that they were condemning themselves. When you read the 613 Laws of Moses, it is likely we have all committed at one time or another, a fatal sin.

What did Jesus mean when he contradicted the eye for an eye advice?

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” Matthew 5:38-39 NIV

Jesus was reiterating that God’s eye-for-eye advice pertained to the justice system, not personal jealousies and revenge. These children were slaughtered because of personal, narrow-minded hatred and revenge.

If you watched tonight’s news, you know this: Dead: 22; Maimed: 64. Many kids. Revenge.

What did the British do to the suicide bomber? They welcomed his Muslim family before he was even born, refugees from Libya. He was offered hope and opportunity, but never realized it was a gift from God. He chose the path to the anti-God, Satan.

The bomber, 22-year old Salman Abedi, hated that the Brits who welcomed, loved and helped his family would not adhere to Islam. They would not acknowledge that Muhammad was the prophet and adhere to Sharia law. Most Brits today don’t seem to worship any god other than idol-worship, and that includes Allah. The whole of Europe seems to have chosen the path that Jesus described as wide and easy, rather than the path that is narrow and difficult. Once God is booted out of society it seems the tendency is the failure of the society.

What has happened in Europe is well on its way in America, North and South. Will we take pause and repent? Will we acknowledge that we made a big mistake kicking Him out of the education system? That was child abuse. How far will we have to fall before we realize that God is no myth? The United States is being Europeanized.

The judgmental Salman Abedi will now get it. It is God who metes out eye-for-eye judgments, and my bet is the punishment will not be 72 virgins.

When Jesus seemed to retreat on the eye-for-eye message, He was not. He was simply telling us that what we mete out to those who offend us personally will likely be meted out in the same fashion, to us on Judgment Day. We will not be able to escape our deficiencies and will be hoping for a really forgiving Judge.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:1-5 NIV

Europe is under attack, and they haven’t figured it out. One would think after the Spanish Inquisition, Europe would have a desire not to repeat history. As Muslims have children at record rates, the English are not. The coup will be slow motion but tragic.

As President Trump told the Islamic world last week on his tour through Saudi Arabia, no one can clean up the Islamic terrorist swamps better than Arab Muslims. Like Christians eventually fought back against the KKK terrorist groups, the Muslims must clean their own house. Or the world will need to clean it.
