I worry if I'm not busy at work :nod

Yes, I like when I'm preoccupied and not worried that anytime they would decide to downsize or something. These past few weeks I have been thinking about my options and looking at Indeed jobs. You know, just in case. But I heard that we still have a shot at retaining the contract as the other contractors are realizing they have bid too low and there's no way they can sustain the costs with their offer. And also, we have prospects in Saudi, so maybe it's just me trying to worry too much about losing my job and not trusting God.

I have my rehab, massage, chiropractic adjustments this afternoon. This is my last scheduled visit, and Im waiting to see if the VA approves a few more visits. I think I will only need about 4 more visits, one every other week vice a weekly visit.

My advice to all - Take care of your tailbone because it a real pain in the butt when injured  :biggrin

I could always find something to do, no matter which job and civilian or military: foot patrol, vehicle patrol, business checks, inspect, clean, maintain, repair, put away, and/or inventory equipment or facilities, paperwork, analyze and graph monthly, quarterly, YTD, and annual stats (in case the current reports already done), training (self or others), assist someone else so everyone would get to leave on time, etc., etc., etc.

Oh there is always something for me to work on, just like to be on projects when we're busy, because that's job security.

WF, another grocery, took care of the dog and plants, took Dad for his walk at the inside strip mall, got gas in his car and went into the grocery and hardware stores at the inside strip mall while Dad was walking, and moved furniture when we got back. Now taking a break. Too tired to trust myself :cloud9 because the dog is getting her other flu shot late this afternoon [sigh]

I managed to repair the shed today. A couple of boards needed replacing. They were those pressed sawdust type of boards. I replaced them with plywood. That should last for a while, probably longer than I will. Then I trimmed a bush/tree that the mower had a hard time getting around when mowing the lawn, and sprayed any and all weeds (that aren't mixed in with the lawn) on the property and along the road rain gutters adjacent to the property. Then I told my wife what I'd accomplished and told her I was gonna celebrate with a Dairy Queen burger, and did she want to come with me...

Walked to the store in the heat today to get some vinegar so I could clean out my spare fish tank and get it ready for re-sealing. I think I got a bit of burn which would be the first of the season. I've been outside a lot and haven't burned yet but I guess the humidity is catching up. It doesn't look bad but it feels a little tender.

My son is refusing to give up his sweats and sweatshirts in spite of the humidex reaching nearly 40C (104F) so I think it's that sensory and transition issues coming into play. He used to wear his winter boots well into summer when he was a toddler and his feet would be so sweaty and smelly that I had to hide his winter gear. And then, in winter, I had to hide his summer clothes. He's a pre-teen now so I think some of that wanting to remain covered up is partially attributed to that stage of life but I still am thinking of hiding all the sweats. I had asked him if he was hot but he just was so confused and wondered how that could even come up. He had no idea what I was talking about. LOL I also wonder if the habit has returned because we home school now. When he was in public school he would have seen the other kids all changing their gear and clothes. He is wearing sandals though so maybe that is enough temperature regulation for him in his mind.

Baked buns and the kitchen didn't actually get too hot but it feels like our window a/c unit isn't cutting through the thickness of the heat anymore. We need a break. It's Canada. It's supposed to be all ice and polar bears.

Hiding in the shadows, watching my 10 year old granddaughter walk to school for the first time by herself. Its a 1/2 mile walk, basically a straight shot, lots of other kids and parents walking the little ones on the same road. My daughter said Milly was so excited she probably had a hard time going to sleep last night. For years, my daughter dropped her off here at 730, and we fed her breakfast, then I drove her to school.

I found a new fun thing to do with my dog. He likes to lay on a bench in the front “office” and he can see out the windows. The printer is just a few feet from his bench. Its a wireless printer, so I can sit in the family room, send something to the printer, and the noise of the printer turning on startles him every time….Im positive he will soon find something to irate me…:bluesclues

Maybe you can get him to fetch you the print for a treat... then he'd watch that printer for it to make that noise.

Our cat is apparently going deaf. The other day I walked right up behind him, laying in a sunny patch. He didn't move so I reached down and goosed his butt. The rear end came off the ground first, then the front caught up somehow, and he 180'd in mid air, fur all fluffed out and said MEEOOOW! :cateyes Probably lucky I didn't lose a finger but that was funny.

Our kitty went deaf at 19, she would be yelling at us all the time, poor thing.
Chaos is 19 or 20, by our calculations, and he does yell at us adamantly and unrelenting when it is time for his food to appear. You'd think we never feed him the way he goes on about it.

Finished coating the deck of the new kayak today. Just have to get it all setup with deck rigging and seating. Tomorrow or Friday may be splash day.

I took a morning nap on account of I was sleepy. Then I drove out to Curt Gowdy State Park and ran a trail for 5 miles. I love trail running. Hopefully I can get out there once a week or so. On the way home I picked up some groceries yhat will allow me to serve burgers tonight..

Curt Gowdy was a great broadcaster.

I ran trails years ago, but avoid them now. One reason, I dont like to drive for a place to run. Also, when tired and legs feeling heavy, trail running made me susceptible to tripping on roots, rocks, holes….etc. About 99.9 percent of all my runs for the past 20 years have been on back streets throughout the neighborhoods I have lived in. Im running before most are even awake, so traffic is never an issue. Hard streets are definitely harder on the joints over trails, but my body really knows no other way. Neighborhood running can be boring, but trails offer great scenery on the run.

I keep it simple. I never run with headphones or earbuds, and boring does not bother me as I will finish the run regardless.
