Whats your plans for the day?

I know and sometimes feel flogged after trudging around a hot course for 4-5 hours. I only do it to have an activity with my hubby, who is golf obsessed. He was a caddy too in his younger days.

I only caddied once or twice when I was a teenager. For friend of the family during a private tournament, and maybe for him or Dad on another occasion (don't remember anymore).

We went to a new church yesterday. It is a Baptist church and so my wife was a little skeptical, however, she enjoyed it for the most part. Minister was good, music good, extremely friendly. The only downside was that the SS was a little weak. However, she saw some friends there and so, overall positive. If we join, I'll offer to teach and who knows, maybe I'll wind up teaching that SS class. We have been at our previous/current independent church for forty (40) years and it's hard to consider a different church after so long, but our pastor died in 2019 a month before Covid hit so we've been sporadic in attendance since then. Sadly, we picked up some evidences of that church becoming more 'woke' so that is making leaving a little easier. Denominations seem to mean little these days, each church is its own entity, some solid, some not.

We have been enjoying sitting outside on the front deck watching people walking by, motorcycles, and vehicles going by. We are having moderate temps of 76 until it gets in the 80's and higher. Summer is only a month away not looking forward to hot temps.

Same here. And heard some news report that this year will be hotter than most.

Then again, they also said we'd have a super snowy winter and we got NONE.

My neice has tik-tok and said it is confirmed on there that the Rapture will be today.
Wish my phone would allow emojis!!
Fortunately she doesn't believe in date setting anymore than we do.

Supposedly the rest of my stitches will be taken out this Wednesday May 24. So until then I am going to take it easy and just make a list of things to do to straighten this place up. Whether to keep or sell. To me it requires doing the same things.

Just going to make my husband hamburgers when he gets home tonight from work and make something light for my daughter for dinner because she was sick (tummy trouble) all day yesterday.
My husband woke up at 5am this morning to get ready for work and he found a group of men in dark clothes and masks trying to break into our next door neighbors house. He called 911 to report it, but the police never showed up from his call. Turns out it was the SWAT team. They were after the woman who lived there. They caught her, but now things from this past year make a whole bunch more sense (like parking her car in the back of her house, taking off within 2 minutes of getting home from work, etc.). We have lived here for 22 years and have always had problem neighbors in that house.

Opened a couple of new online bank accounts, then ran for about 5 miles. Right now I'm eating a chili cheese burger. Not sure if I'll take a nap or do something productive after I finish lunch and get cleaned up.

More grass planting today. The garden is up and growing but I'm still putting in grass for our yard. Last year's drought was devastating. The garden completely died and a good part of the yard did as well. Our yard is part bermuda and part St. Augustine but only the St. Augustine grass died, bermuda did fine, so this year, everywhere I had dead grass, I plant bermuda. If you can't stand the heat, get out of my yard!! I don't mind the St. Augustine grass but I'm not replanting every year, so bermuda.

Picked up a couple food-safe hoses and nozzles that I had ordered via Home Depot.



and went to special group Bible study. Tonight was the last night until TBD. The group will supposedly have a pool party/BBQ to fellowship and pray for each other a couple times this summer.

Sad because I need the help, support, and prayer the ministry provides.

Feel like I haven't been around in awhile. Been busy preparing for a visit with the inlaws and they go home tomorrow. It's been an OK visit. I actually won a game of Mexican Train dominoes. I had been way into last place for the first several rounds with almost double the score of everyone else so I was shocked by the turn of events. I lost badly at Yatzee, however. haha

I love asparagus. I am not a veggies person which is bad, I know. But asparagus is one of the few vegetables I genuinely love.

This was a short trip to test some equipment and fine tune things for our Sunday fishing trip, have to make sure the wife's rods/reels are rigged and ready for her to slay them, Been scouting an area and fairly certain she will bag her biggest largemouth and probably get quite a few.

Update, the lakes levels are dropping here from lake of rain, a couple sand pit lake we frequent are almost 4' low, one has dropped 2' since last wee so fishing has been tough. BUT being an excellent guide(Mary's praise) I saved my best spot for last and decided to fish it late afternoon yesterday. Reason being many campers are there and lots of activity all weekend, yesterday only a few campers remained and the lake was not busy. Mary made a good long 60' cast and let her 4" swim soft plastic swim bait sink to the bottom which is approx. 20' deep. Then she worked the lure slow off the bottom back to shore and a nice Largemouth took it with a violent strike, about 3-5 minutes later she got it to shore, it was a magnificent 21" beauty ! The whole time she was playing it out I was praying it would not jump off like all the big bass she has lost in the past, we both thanked the Lord for her catch. What was awesome she got it at the last place I was saving and on her first cast. The last 3 days fishing has been real tough, 0 wind, bright sunny skies, and we had fished 3 days and quite a few lakes with minimal success. I'm very seasoned angler and did not catch 1 bass, not even a little guy. One lake we fished had to have at least 100 fisherman and fisher kids trying to catch something but it was like fishing the dead sea. Happy she beat me again and finally the big one for her did not get away!

A few weeks ago, I taught my 10 yr old GD how to play yahtzee. After only a few games, she was already questioning my every choice in what to roll for on my second throw of the dice…
