This is one I used to sing to my kids, then grandkids. I love it!

Yeah, well, your ears are too perky to hang low.
(My ears hang lower with advancing age, for sure.)
So anyway, ok, I was not inviting a critical spirit here. What song has been replaying in YOUR head today Al-raj54?
Occasionally temptation overcomes me, 'specially when I can rib you a little bit. :cookiemonster:
No songs in my head today. Been too busy.
Well, since I'm a heretic, and listen to CCM...
It has been Big Daddy Weave, "The Only Name"
(chorus) When I wake up in the land of Glory,
And with the saints I will tell my story,
There will be one Name that I proclaim.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, just that name.
That didn't stick.:
The song Hula Love crops up and gets stuck often, even though I seldom hear it.
Another one is One Day at Time
Also Do You Know You Are My Sunshine
I always have a song going. Now that I can't play on the piano(because of arthritis) what is going on in my head, I sing. I am not good but it's just something I have to do.
Today's song is an old hymn and I posted it in Leslies thread(prayer forum). It is He Is So Precious To Me. Yesterday and all throughout today I have begun singing at the end of the last verse...I know I shall see Him, shall look on His face. For He is so precious to me......
- So precious is Jesus, my Savior, my King;
His praise all the day long with rapture I sing;
To Him in my weakness for strength I can cling,
For He is so precious to me.
- Refrain:
For He is so precious to me,
For He is so precious to me;
’Tis heaven below, my Redeemer to know,
For He is so precious to me.- He stood at my heart’s door ’mid sunshine and rain,
And patiently waited an entrance to gain;
What shame that so long He entreated in vain,
For He is so precious to me.- I stand on the mountain of blessing at last,
No cloud in the heavens a shadow to cast,
His smile is upon me; the valley is past,
For He is so precious to me.- I praise Him because He appointed a place
Where someday, through faith in His wonderful grace,
I know I shall see Him, shall look on His face,
For He is so precious to me.

This is the one that has been going through my head all day, the one I played as I first sat down at the piano this morning.

Today, running through my head, has been the secular "hymn" "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen

This is a good thing.
My dear, dear sister. Why should we settle for the tawdry secular lyrics to this beautiful melody when God has given a young man inspired lyrics that glorify Him? I have been sitting here listening to it, tears filling my eyes, praising God! Hallelujah!I appreciate Adrian's song more, simply because "Do Your Ears Hang Low?" is the tune played by the ice cream truck as it goes through my neighborhood every dayl It repeats ad nauseum for about 30 minutes once or twice a day when the weather is nice. (Although back in my day, it was called "Turkey in the Straw" and there were no words!)

This is a good thing. Some days it's an upbeat song about the sinking of the Titanic that I learned at summer camp many many years ago, and some days it can be "Great Big Gobs of Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts" that I also sang as a child. Yuck!
First I'm jealous because I can't play piano...and secondly, since I didn't grow up "Christian", I don't know hymns by heart.
