UMD Beats UND in 5 Overtimes in NCAA Longest Hockey Game Ever - Over 6 Hours from First Puck Drop to Final Score
Minnesota Duluth and North Dakota were prepared to go way past the distance to advance to the Frozen Four.
The two teams played to a fifth overtime period Saturday night, setting a new record for the longest NCAA Tournament game of all-time, as Luke Mylymok broke the deadlock after 142:13, scoring on the 119th shot of the game to help Minnesota Duluth earn a 3-2 victory.

Though first puck dropped at 7:32 p.m. ET, UMD didn't secure the win until six hours later.

This is the first post I've seen on hockey. Most of you probably don't like it but hockey is my favorite sport to watch (Pittsburgh Penguins) and then college football, even though that sport has become all about money.

Hockey, this is the sports section...... :biggrin2

No, Im not a hockey fan at all, but I did attend one game in 1997, and that was in Pittsburgh to watch the Penguins. I have to admit watching it in person is a far more exciting and a better experience rather than watching on TV. Pittsburgh is a strong sports city, and they love the Penguins.

I love hockey :inlove Grew up rooting for the Minnesota North Stars . . . Gump Worsley (Goalie) was the last NHL player not wearing mask and helmet :lol I think he had no teeth :lol I also liked Bobby Orr, so rooted for Boston except if they were playing the North Stars :smile

Norm Sucks! Norm Sucks! (Minnesota rallying cry from when the owner of the North Stars moved the franchise to Dallas)

Now, we have the Minnesota Wild :smile

. . . and in a pinch, when the turf heaters in Lambeau Field stop working (freeze up), we can watch the Green Bay Packers and whoever's in town skate around on the football field :hyper

How much do I love hockey? I have the New York Rangers goal scoring song as the ringtone on my smartphone. It's easy to hear in my purse. I remember when they played a playoff game against the Capitals in I believe 2012 or 2013. It went to three overtimes. A real heart shopper were everyone was exhausted. I can't imagine five of them.
