Britain is considering supplying Ukraine with tanks for the first time to help the country fight Russian forces, Sky News reported on Monday, citing unnamed sources. Discussions have been taking place "for a few weeks" about delivering the British Army's Challenger 2 main battle tank to Ukraine, Sky said, quoting a Western source with knowledge of the conversations. Supplying tanks would represent a significant step up in Western support to Ukraine, but the British government has not yet taken a final decision on the matter, the report added.

The next tanks will have active armor. Units have automatic detection systems that launch armor/projectiles at the incoming missile.
If the missile detonates too soon/too far away, it's ineffective.
Israel has this. A trial by fire will help.

Also a Challenger is not a Russian T-80...99

But then the next challenge - robots are appearing. What they need is some serious ECM Electronic Counter Measures

Nothing like an EMP to fry everything and we wind up with horses and machine-guns.

Imperfect but forgiven

Military gear is usually hardened against EMP attacks. It's most of the civilian infrastructure, at least in the USA, that will bite the dust in the area where the EMP is effective.

Drones and all that little stuff will get fried, and any signals going to and from are gonna get scrambled.

It does seem we are kinda quiet on the elint and how much we can hack and take over.

That all sound good but all those controls are in English wonder how many of the Ukraine Army speak and read English? those tanks also have NATO secure/encrypted radios which require and encryption key to be changed weekly (SINCGARS) - Did the Brits train them on that as well? or pull them out and just use standard radios with no encryption - it takes about 22 Weeks of training in the US Army for tank school just to get familiar with the complex systems in M1 Abrams - I would image the British have similar training for their Challenger 2 Tanks as well - it is a matter of training with unfamiliar equipment then the Ukraines can benefit from it. The US Army recently extend their training

The Ukrainians have demonstrated a strong ability to learn and adapt. I imagine they have special crews relabeling things quickly.

Learning how to run an armoured vehicle is the hard part. Knowing HOW to use it has been well demonstrated. The learning curve is not like the one for green troops.
The logistics does seem to be the next great challenge - security, parts, maintenance but seeing how quickly they return battle damaged soviet stuff indicates they have a very good handle on the situation.

Fire, Fuego, Tirer [Pull] are different words, but you learn real quick it means to fire the gun.
