Trucks

It's generally all in fun. I'm planning to downsize to an F150. I won't feel like I have a real truck anymore once that happens... Maybe someday I'll have downgraded to a Maverick... No use having more than one needs. Not sure if I saw your truck... may not having been wearing my glasses at the time...
I did not go out of my way to point it out to you in the restaurant parking lot. Im sure your big truck, with the long bed, and shell on top, my truck could fit inside your beast.

I heard a good nickname for those beasts of a truck - Truck Norris…another line credited to the awesomeness of Chuck Norris.

To qualify for a truck worthy of such a name, you must own a Ram Truck, at least a 2500, but the real Truck Norris is the Ram 3500.

I though it was the International CXT or the Ford 550 that ate 2500's and 250's.

There used to be something like the Denominator. It was like a pickup on a Peterbilt chassis.

My 2012 F150 was acting goofy late Friday, would not shift and had very little acceleration, and where the speedometer is there was a symbol of a hand gripping a wrench  never seen that before. Pulled into parking lot and looked under truck, no leaks anywhere, speedometer was out too, thought it was a electrical gremlin of some type, so drove a mile down the road to a Ford dealer. They took a look and said it needed some computer/electric part that sit above the transmission. The part is under warranty for for some faulty recall , truck has 131k on it, glad that the part and labor will cost 0. The warranty runs out in a couple weeks, THANK YOU LORD :woohoo

I got an email notification that my F150 build was completed. The estimate for delivery to Fairbanks is sometime in the latter part of December. It's not much of a truck as it only has a 5 1/2 foot bed, but I expect it'll be as much as I need going forward. It's unfathomably expensive... hope I never need to buy another vehicle.

Jokes aside, I wouldn't purchase any other brand. This is about the only time in my life when I'm using the product that's number 1 amoung consumers. When Windows was becoming popular, I was using OS/2, for example, and a whole bunch of things I've bought/used over the years weren't the number one favorite thing in it's category. I still use and prefer the Word Perfect Office Suite over Microsoft Office. I use Corel Draw instead of the Adobe product, and on and on. Ford Trucks, though, they're number 1. I've never had a half ton pickup. I know they don't even feel like a truck compared to the F250s I've owned over the years. This one is a hybrid so we'll see how that goes. The engine itself is a 3.5 ltr Ecoboost. I've had 5 Ecoboost engines previously and love them. Twin turbos, one for the low end and one for the high end... lots of power whenever you might need it. I wish it was a plug in hybrid but it's not. They deleted some of the stuff on the truck as it was ordered because of parts/chips issues. I think they even removed the heated steering wheel. On my Bronco Sport, that feature doesn't get turned off for many months...

Congrats on the new truck!

The biggest thing you'll notice is the ride. 1/2 tons ride like a car nowadays. I just picked up a '22 Ram Bighorn and it rides nicer than anything I've ever ridden in. This is the first vehicle I've owned with a heated steering wheel, and I have to admit it's nice, it's a shame they deleted that option on your truck.

And just to shock everyone my wife bought a '19 Ford Edge with the ecoboost. She's had Fords before and she liked her sister's Edge. She needed something a little higher than her Journey. It's really nice. Hopefully it'll last.

Congrats on knowing which truck is the top dog. What size truck? 1500?

Thanks.
Yep, I don't need anything bigger. It'll tow my travel trailer without any problems. My other truck was fine but in '24 they are getting rid of the Hemi in the 1500's. They are moving to a twin turbo inline 6 called the Hurricane. We all know the first 2 to 3 years of a new engine, no matter who makes it, is always problematic. I wanted a new enough truck that I knew would get me past those first couple of years.

I really loved my last truck. I did a lot of customizing to it but this one is even nicer.

About 4 years ago my dealer loaned me an F150 to drive in while they did something to my truck. I was surprised at how light it felt compared to what I was used to. It did drive a lot differently than my F250s. It felt so different. Since then I've driven my sister's F150 when I'm in North Carolina so I've become more familiar with that class of truck. I don't feel like I'm in a truck when I'm driving an F150... and since mine won't have a full size bed, its status as a real truck is in question. But it should meet my needs going forward.

Believe it or not, I once had a Ford F150, and before that it was a Ford Expedition, both great vehicles.

My '95 F150 was junk. I think it has dissolved by now, but the engine and 4spd tranny were great.

My '85 Ramcharger was the best, manual +creeper, 318, ...... but I needed a cargo bed. I should have bought a dump trailer.

Currently my '00 GMC is over 200K and still running fine albeit after a trans rebuild and new head gaskets. If I replace it, it will be GMC if possible....

or a 1948 power wagon
