I was the first female to pack the bearings on one in my unit Some of us made a pile of money on the bet I couldn't even get the wheel off the vehicle. Platoon SGT and Squad Leader knew I could/would, though Lots of stuff I learned working at a gas station that came in handy in the Army. At that time, especially in some units, they were trying to figure out what to do with the female soldiers

Wish we had had an impact hammer and lift. That was third shop, though, and not operator/unit-level maintenance

I burn my ONIONS in olive oil over lowish-medium heat so as to avoid conversion of good fats into bad, and preserve the plumpness and flavor of the ONIONS
