TGIF "Spiritual Warefare"

Today's Prayer
Dear God, My heart is burdened for someone whom I love, who is gracious, kind, giving, loving, but who seems so confused when it comes to spiritual things. Like many people, this one claims a belief in you, but also believes that all other religions who worship their god, worship the same God. Jehovah God please open their eyes to see that you alone are the one true God. You are the creator and sent your precious son Jesus as the Savior of the world. Your Holy Spirit is the one who convicts us and guides us and seals us unto the day of redemption. You are the God of love and mercy above all, but also of justice and accountabilty. There is so much confusion in hearts around the world. You are not the author of confusion (according to your own Word, our Holy Bible). Please, let it be crystal clear to these lost souls that you are the answer to their hurts, problems, their searching and longing for something...the fulfillment of that empty place...the peace that passes all understanding. You are God. I beg you to show me what I can do or say to enlighten even one more soul. Work through me, Father, your loving child and willing servant. Thank you for hearing my prayer and for working in all of our lives. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Spiritual Warfare
TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1, by Os Hillman

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood...." - Ephesians 6:12

Have you ever heard someone say, "I will never do business with another Christian"? I hear this comment quite often in my dealings with Christian workplace believers. This comment represents the battle that rages against us by the enemy of our soul to destroy the witness and effectiveness of Christian workplace believers. We must realize that we are in a war - a war for the souls of men, a war to discredit all that a Christian stands for, a war that is designed to divide Christian against Christian.

Satan's ploy in the life of Christian workplace believers is to do several things to make them ineffective as soldiers in the workplace. First, he wants to discredit them by allowing them to fail other people in their professional services. This often shows up in failing to perform what they committed to do or performing in an unsatisfactory way. Sometimes, this is a result of a downright failure of the workplace believer to perform with excellence. In other cases, it may be a misunderstanding in the midst of the service that causes strife and division instigated by the enemy.

The result in both cases is the same: a division among Christians and even non-Christians, further resulting in a damaged witness for Christ. The apostle Peter admonishes us to "live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us" (1 Pet. 2:12).

There are times when each of us is thrust into situations out of our control. Sometimes this results in our inability to pay a bill on time, or to deliver a service. Defeating satan in these battles requires extra communication with those with whom we are dealing. If the motive of your heart is to do right, then God will give you favor in order to work through these difficult spots. Ask God today to show you where the enemy is seeking to make you ineffective.

We wage a spiritual war that is not flesh and blood. We must fight this war with spiritual weapons applied to practical daily living.

I don't know if anyone else has made mention in any of these TGIF posts, but Os Hillman is a noted purveyor of the New Apostolic Reformation/Dominionism movement and it's philosophies.

From his Change Agent Network Page:

Last year, I was struck by a particular teaching by my good friend Craig Hill. He says that God is NOT in control. “What???” you might say. “I thought God was omniscient and all-powerful!” The truth is He IS omniscient and all-powerful. He has authority. But, He is not in control. You see, God sent Jesus on the earth to save the world from sin and death. But, when He sent Jesus, He intentionally left us with the keys.

Psalms 33:11: The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.

Psalms 22:28: For kingship belongs to the LORD, and he rules over the nations.

Hebrews 2:8: ...Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.

From our perspective, though we do not now see everything in subjection to Christ, everything is still in His control.

Regarding "He intentionally left us with the keys":

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

There have also been quite a few past RF threads that have specifically make mention of him, here are 4:

I'm glad you pointed that out. Before skimming through this thread, I'd never heard of him. But I avoid NAR/Dominionism (Reconstructionism, etc) like the plague, and caution others to, as well. :(( Thanks for posting.
