Spiritual Warfare - the sexual battleground

God didn’t make men to have strong sexual desires that leads to pornography or other sexual sins. It’s man’s (meaning both men and women) corrupted nature. Now I’m this day and time we live in you are seeing more and more females struggling with pornography. Especially in the younger generations.
Now I agree with you that it drastically affects a marriage. It’s one of the most prevalent problems with in the church today. I encourage all wives to constantly lift your husband up in prayer. Pray for their protection spiritually. If you’re not married pray for your future husband. Our daughter is 11 and right now thinks boys are gross but we have taught her to pray for her future husband. We are teaching our 7 year old son to start praying for his future wife. They think it’s silly right now but it’s important. (I say all that not trying to be argumentative or anything. I understand why you would question why men are the way they are. Just remember not all men are like that)

I didnt mean to put anyone on the defense. Please reread my post. I was just wondering how to understand and explain to my daughter how sexuality has been corrupted to point we see today. And like Joy pointed out, there have been ancient civilizations that glorify unnatural sex acts.
Again, sorry to have offended anyone. It's all difficult to understand how what God designed has been so debased in this world. It seems to me that there are innate differences between men and women and their sexualities, and the enemy has exploited that. Very discouraging.

Again, sorry for anything insensitive I said. It's a difficult thing whether you're male or female. We're all affected by this.

No I’m sorry! I never took any offense to what you posted. And I know you weren’t! I didn’t mean to make it sound like you were (that’s on me). And you are right satan has definitely used sexuality to exploit the kingdom. Sadly that has been the downfall of many men. Your daughter is wise and discerning way beyond her years. She sounds like she is definitely the exception to the rule in this day and age. That’s a testament to her upbringing and that’s one thing you can be proud of!
Again I’m sorry that the way I posted caused you think you were being offensive. That’s one of the very few negatives about the forums. You can’t really express what you are wanting to really express by typing it out sometimes.
Me and my wife will be praying for your daughter. That the Lord will send her a godly young man that will love the Lord with all his heart and love your daughter as Christ loves His church.

I think it's just part of being in a fallen world and dealing with our fallen nature and its various ways our falleness can express itself.

We all struggle with our sin nature, whether male or female. :sad

I like the encouragement to pray for those struggling in this. :nod

Back in Bible times, marriage took place in the teenage years, so there were no long stretches of time of being single and without a legit sexual outlet for men…

Nobody remained single for long, including if you were divorced or widowed. The push towards marriage was relentless, and for good reason. Not like the lifelong bachelorhood which we see nowadays…

Also, women basically walked around in long, loose robes which concealed anything sexual about their bodies, eliminating the temptation that tight, low cut clothing and bikini’s cause…

Furthermore, all sex outside of marriage - fornication and adultery - was punished with the death penalty (by stoning), so the gravity of its sinfulness was quite palpable, I imagine. Not like nowadays with its “boys will be boys” attitude…

Although culture was different back then, and by no means do I expect women to dress this way, but the concept of modesty today is practically dead in the world, and almost nonexistent even in the church.

Speaking from a man’s perspective:

All these worldly ideologies have crept into the church and made it seem that it’s okay for women to dress in whatever way they want, and it’s the guys who are mainly responsible for not looking. Here is the thing, yes men are still responsible for not looking in a lustful way. Matter fact I would even add the core issue is our sinful hearts, so if a man wanted to lust he will lust (even if the women is fully dressed modestly).

However, for the men who are fighting this sin with every tool they have. They might have a past addiction issue with it, but are not necessarily addicted, so their temptation to this addiction can easily be triggered when they see a women dressed in incredibly revealing clothes. You can look away immediately but the reality is when you see something it’s now in your head, you have to start fighting that thought. To put it simple both parties need to work together to make sure somebody is not falling into this sin.

Men need to take every measure to stop this sin by cleaning their hearts, and cutting off things that trigger their temptation, and women need to not make it hard. I know the world will never understand this concept, but alteast our Christian women can help us out. I’m telling you the struggle is real. It’s come to the point whenever I go to public places like the gym, I don’t wear contacts lenses and just leave my glasses in the car. Every corner you turn to women are walking around with clothes that literally outline every part of their body (sorry to be graphic).

Most men fight this battle of lust, pornography, and most men are losing. Trying to quit this can feel like an alcoholic trying to quit alcohol by living in a bar. You literally have to quit every media outlet and do a clean house in your heart. But even after that sometimes just walking outside you have to be alert because your eyes might fall on the wrong person.

I agree with your post. Your last comment there is especially relevant I think to Rapture Forums and the Last Days, because this is another sign that we're in the Last Days. Many folks in Church sadly don't seem to have the Kingdom as a priority, have no desire to nor even any awareness that they need to. The difference between a 'Christian' and non-Christian sometimes is not apparent. Church leaders can be reluctant to speak out on controversial topics, if they do people will just bail to a church where anything goes, such churches are sadly not hard to find. Truth is seen as judgemental, bible study seen as religious. All we can do I guess is try to stand firm, guard our hearts. Be strong and wait for the coming Lord. God Bless You :)

I hear what you’re saying, and I agree…

A woman can make herself look attractive without looking like a hooker who’s displaying her “merchandise” for sale.

I’ve seen it at church, too. Teen girls with dresses and skirts that are so short and tight, it leaves little to the imagination. And these girls are sitting right next to their parents. Don’t the parents see anything wrong with how their daughters are dressing?

No they do not.
Parents (mothers??) seem to see just how trashy they can dress their YOUNG daughters..I am talking 8 yr Olds.
I see this in my own neighborhood.
Shorts so short they could be mistaken for underwear.
I detest letting young girls dress like that.

Hello Umbrella Girl. I would say:

2 Timothy 3:1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

What we're seeing are signs of the last days. A lot of parents I think are a wee bit scared to speak out too far, their children are influenced by peer pressure, social media, peer music more than by them. But as Joy said, I think some parents/ leaders/ church leaders don't seem to notice or see any issue with what's happening around them. God Bless :)

The mothers think it’s cute to dress their daughters like little street walkers. They need to get their priorities straight. And the fathers, as heads of the households, seriously need to speak up and deem what is acceptable attire for their daughters and what isn’t.
