Sometimes feeling discouraged and weary.

Haven't read all through this thread, but I will when I'm done. Last night I was listening to Jack Hibbs prophesy service he did a couple weeks ago. I had my headphones in and my Bible and a notebook.
I got excited and wanted to share my thoughts with dh. I tried to explain some things to him and told him I wished he would listen with me.
He looked at for a space and then said something that completely deflated my bubble...

I'm sorry your husband said that (I'm sure he meant well.) FWIW, you helped me and made me happy. I completely agree with your views on prophecy and the Rapture...oh, and the reality of hell. You're absolutely right. HTH to know you lifted the spirits of at least one fellow Christian. :)

He looked at for a space and then said something that completely deflated my bubble... He said I reminded him of his mom (that's a conversation killer right there). He said his mom got to the point where she felt like she was just grasping at straws and gave up. What I know about his mom is her faith isn't built on God's Word, but on books ABOUT God's Word. She's very much into reading things like The Shack and a bunch of "feel good", "name it and claim it", Joel Osteen stuff. And while I believe she is saved, I don't think she actually knows the Bible. She won't hear or tolerate anything having to do with Hell or Judgment (she calls it fire and brimstone stuff).
But having my hubs say that to me completely killed whatever joy I had in that moment.

I learned about prophecy and the pre-trib rapture from my mom. We studied through scriptures for hours. My mom learned about it from her grandma. My mom often told me about how excited her grandma was when reading and studying prophecy. She and my mom would study and read it together.
Obviously the rapture didn't happen in my great Grandma's time, but her faith was unshakable. She didn't have the internet or fancy books about it. She just had the Bible.
That's the kind of faith I want to have. I'm ok with the thought that the rapture may not happen in my lifetime. But it will happen because God says it will. That's where my faith is. Because God says. Not because some teacher says, but because God says.
You've been very blessed with your side of the family, must have been wonderful.

It always surprises me when people say- I want to have children (or grand-children). For me personally, if I were in the childbearing years in this day, I don't believe I would want to bring a child into it. I would truly fear for the child.
I said I would never have children 28 years ago for that exact reason. God prevailed and I now have a 24 and 22 year old. Both are saved and my one my younger daughter has brought dozens to Christ! Don’t under estimate the power of God. He has plans!

Nothing is impossible with God. NCannie, I believe you helped Steve53 awhile back. He was having financial difficulties. I don't know if you have heard, but he passed away in February sometime. Go look in the prayer thread for his thread called Job Situation and Health Issue. It is on page 3 8 down.

I'm pregnant now and am trusting in the Lord with our lives. I also have a 19 month old toddler and I can't imagine not having all the moments of joy we've already had together. I'm guilty of letting fear take over but it's not of God.
Gd will provide all you need!

Oh my goodness thank you for letting me know! I had no idea! I’m sad for us but happy he is with our Lord and Savior. He was a great man and I’m glad he was a part of my journey here. Thank you again, I will go look.
