DH and I were never heavily into desserts or sweet snacks.........................................................until our oldest daughter moved back home.
She's got a sweet tooth, I tell ya. Now that Paul is in heaven, I have picked up on eating sweets since dd and I share a home. I was
diagnosed as "pre-diabetic" for the past twenty years, but it has never increased or advanced, even with the sweets inoutcounter is a my diet. Go
figure............ and, my downfall at the check-out counter is a Payday bar! But, I do try to spread the sweetness out as best I can.

Imperfect but forgiven
Trying to make me feel better about my drug habit? :ahaha

I saw a lot of things for the first time while traipsing through jungle. It was especially awesome when we came to some kind of fruit tree with ready to eat fruit on it. The Cocoa trees were lower canopy trees but they really were beautiful with the various colored pods hanging from them.

I'm in the pre-diabetic category. I changed my diet pretty drastically and the blood sugar levels didn't budge. I have an older sister who is also pre-diabetic and she eats whatever she wants, and her numbers stay the same too. For some of us the numbers are purely from genetic factors. None-the-less I'm maintaining a candy/sweet free diet... can't be bad for me...

Agreed. Before my "episode", I ate really, really bad. From fast food, to processed foods, to chocolate ice cream (almost EVERY night) to just sweets. Alot of sugar! Now, I only eat fruits, veggies and meats (except red meat and pork). No breads, no pasta and every other month or two, a chocolate shake from WAWA. Heh heh!

Such a boring life..................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Mars Incorporated makes a lot of candy. I've been boycotting all of it for a long time, because my long term health is more important to me than a short term good taste. But now I guess I have another reason.

It makes sense that a company that markets poison to kids would have no problem with poisoning their minds too; they can't be very nice people, because they have to know the effect their candy has on kids. It is illegal to advertise cigarettes on TV and has been for a long time, so I don't know why it isn't illegal to advertise this kind of poison, or at least to advertise it to kids.

I don't know why the Bud Light boycott worked so well but so many other companies who deserve the same treatment don't get boycotted. In a case like this it should be easy, because we already know that what is inside the package is poisoning our kids. But somehow it doesn't materialize.

Things like this becoming so common are a reminder that God allows His enemy to be the god of this world, and as the world turns its back on the true God, His enemy grows in power. We can take comfort in knowing that God is in control, and all of this is part of His plan.

I ate Skittles as a kid and liked them, but I wouldn't eat them now. First, I have no teeth and cannot chew them (can't get dentures because my lower jawbone is too flat and they cannot even make a mold), second because I cannot waste money on junk food like that, and third, even if I didn't have the first two issue, I wouldn't because of what they represent now.

I think it worked because the bud lite drinker is a country redneck, of which I'm one, but I don't like beer. I would say most of those customers will never go back.

I have seen ads on tv for kids fruit 'colored' cereals, that are promoting a free book for the empty boxes sent in.
I shudder to think about the agenda those books are pushing
Maybe the should come out with a new cereal: Noah's Ark....

Puffed rice in animal shapes, Noah and family with a rainbow of human marshmallows.

Guess which ones wont survive the flood.....

Yea, We ate the marshmallows out of the box, but mom was wise to us. No more cereal until the plain stuff was eaten.

that's why I stuck with CoCoa Krispies.

Marshmallows melt in a cup of hot coffee. Of course all that sugar would render said coffee undrinkable. Poisonous, even, when the artificial colors are considered.
