Six years in glory!

Shortly after 2:15 in the morning on this date (May 8th, 2007) my wife, Charlotte Frances Bateman (née McLeod) went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. No one could have desired her homecoming more than she. God was faithful to his promise to her of many years ago: "And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve." (Isaiah 14:3) His word came to pass. Daniel wrote "they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever." (Daniel 12:3) Charlotte, in the lives of all who knew you and loved you, you continue to shine. The seeds you sowed into our lives continue to bear fruit. And should, together, all of us who remain to this day bring countless souls to Christ, all of that fruit shall be laid to your account. I exult that you have been rejoicing in the presence of our Lord for 6 years now ... 6 years out of an eternity. May we all soon join you there for the glories that await.

God bless. What a day that will be.

What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived
the things God has prepared for those who love him

To be reunited with loved ones is very comforting.

We have that blessed hope. Maranatha! :thumbup

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

New King James Version (NKJV)
The Comfort of Christ’s Coming

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.[a]

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
