First let me say, i am so thankful to my friends here on the RF. I know none of you know me and this is one of the very few posts I’ve ever made. I just love you guys and feel like you are family even if I’m a lurker. No, you don’t know my name and that’s okay. (It’s Marcia.) I’ll recognize you when I get to Heaven.This is the only fellowship I have. I’m so happy ho have Rapture ready. I was reading on another forum about churches(I guess it was the lone wolf thread). Just let me say, and I think I can speak for some others, I am shy and don’t always contribute. It’s not because I don’t want to but I just think others can say it way better than I can. Just want to say I am thankful for having you as friends and truly appreciate you all and I can’t wait to meet you all.

I was shy when I was younger. I can't say that I am any longer, but I'm still a quiet person, except here at RF...

Marcia, so happy to hear from you! I pretty much only post on the chat-type threads, and some of the prayer request threads. When it comes to current events topics, I mostly read and rarely comment because - as you stated so well - "others can say it better."

I hope you'll feel comfortable enough to join in more often. A good place to start is the Bon Appetit thread... it's a fun one, and all you have to say is what you ate!

Also the women's forum has some good conversations going, so jump right in!

Well I’m one of the shy ones. It took me a while also to jump into the conversations. Everyone though has become like a family so that makes it much easier to be less shy.

I was shy when I first joined, and intimidated.

Contribute as much as you feel comfortable.

The majority of members can express themselves far better than me, but that wont stop me

I used to be very, very shy and socially awkward. Then I started doing theatre in college and now I just ACT like I'm not shy.
I'm an introverted extrovert LOL. No one would peg me in person as being shy or introverted, because I'm very chatty (probably annoyingly so) and outgoing but it takes a lot out of me as it is an effort and something I practiced and learned how to do, not what is natural for me. I need a lot of solitude and quiet to recharge.

But because I was so shy and hyper self-aware as a young person, as I got older I made myself seek out those at gatherings who seemed even more shy or lonely than me and hopefully gave them someone to talk to. More like listen to.
