Saudi Arabia rejected as "not based on facts" criticism of an OPEC+ decision last week to cut its oil production target despite US objections, and said on Thursday that Washington's request to delay the cut by a month would have had negative economic consequences.

The White House pushed back against that on Thursday, saying it presented the Saudis with an analysis that showed the cuts could hurt the world economy. The back-and-forth has added to what has already been a frosty period of relations for the two countries, who have had an energy-for-security alliance for decades.

OPEC+, the producer group comprising the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) plus allies including Russia, last week announced a cut of 2 million barrels per day to its production target after weeks of lobbying by US officials against such a move.

This puts even more pressure on the Left/Democrats about the upcoming midterms.

Today the Jan 6th Committee voted unanimously to subpoena Trump. Even if they get him to appear I don't think that will be enough to shake the pall of death looming over them. Trump is obviously not a candidate in the midterms and although he has endorsed many of the candidates on the Republican side from my view (PA, Philly area) the ad campaigns have not tried to link Trump with the candidate (Oz in my case). Maybe that's coming.

The constant attacks on Trump are only angering the R base even further. That can either work in the D's favor or against depending on how they spin it.

They may have to take more drastic action with less than a month left to go. If the D's do take more drastic action, enough to remain in power, they will probably have spilled the beans too far. We'll have to see how it all plays out.

Thank goodness God is in charge. It's getting even more exciting. Glad I read the end of the book.

OPEC responded by saying they are not swayed by other nations political problems, and will to what's in the best interest of OPEC. Sounds like they have grownups in charge unlike the U.S..

It's why they're trying to goad Russia into using nuclear weapons.
