This was an article in 2013, but I thought it was interesting to post:

“You would think: At the turn of the 21st century? But, no matter which way you turn it, not a single vehicle can get through high in the mountains or in desert places. Not one!” said Kontsevoi.

According to the head of the training center, it is very difficult to use heavy equipment when carrying out military activities in mountainous or forested areas. Thus, the use of horses is necessary for speed and mobility.

Maybe Ezekiel literally meant that their would be horses in this battle ?

Ghoti Ichthus

Pray so they do not serve alone. Ephesians 6:10-20
When God said horses, he meant horses.

Same as 6 24-hour days.

and rising from the dead.

and ascending to Heaven.

and returning to Earth.

and judging the unbelievers.

and judging the nations.

God said it, therefore I believe it, just as He said/wrote it.

They used horses in Afghanistan. Read “12 Strong”. It was a great interesting book. Believe there is also a movie based on the horse soldiers.
I found it interesting the mentality of tribal wars. The reason we should be out from over there.
There is an Aussie movie out about the Australian Light Horse that mounted the cavalry charge at Beersheba ( The well that Abraham dug when he reproved Abimelech. Gen 21, 35-31). It was called the last great cavalry charge of history when they rode over open plain into the Turkish trenches and their machine guns, during the First World War. http://www.lighthorse.org.au/the-battle-at-beersheba/

It was this same Australian Light Horse that actually entered Jerusalem first when it was liberated during the same period. Israel helped re-enact the charge a few years ago, hence a great kinship between Australian and Israeli soldiers.

Russia is one of the only modern countries that still uses horses in military...

There was an English Bible Teacher in the 1980s, Roger Price. His take on the End Times was more like a technology crash would lead to armies on horses in the Middle East again. The over-reliance on Technology and the effects of the crash would bring chaos and the A/C to the scene. God Bless :)
