Rio Carnival 2023 - satan worship brings disaster

On Feb 17th 2023 the Rio de Janiero carnival kicked off in Brazil.

This poverty stricken country spent a great deal of money making gigantic floats and costumes to honor satan.

One of the main attractions was satan stabbing a wounded Jesus with his pitchfork.

During the 2023 Brazilian Carnival holiday weekend, record-breaking rainfall - reaching 682 mm (26.9 in) in 24 hours—caused deadly floods and landslides across the state of São Paolo.
At least 64 people were killed, of which 63 were in São Sebastião.

God is not mocked.

Withstand in the evil day. Eph 6:13
Jeremiah 7:19-20 NLT — Am I the one they are hurting?” asks the LORD. “Most of all, they hurt themselves, to their own shame.” So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “I will pour out my terrible fury on this place. Its people, animals, trees, and crops will be consumed by the unquenchable fire of my anger.”

The title of this thread immediately reminded me of the December 26th 2004 tsunami that was triggered by a 9.1-9.3 earthquake in Indonesia.

Over 230,000 confirmed deaths , although I'm sure it was much higher than that. Hundreds of thousands were never seen nor heard of again.
It was one of the largest "natural" disasters in
recorded history.

Indonesia had the most confirmed deaths of
170,000 people.
Sir Lanka , India , and Thailand were hit pretty heavy as well.

Interesting to note, during this time in Sir Lanka and India (Dec. 26th 2004) many upon many were celebrating Pournami - the full moon day
of the month of Margasira.
Much worship of false gods are involved within these "celebrations".

There are many interesting stories and connections involved with this particular disaster of epic proportions .

Suffice to say , it is very , very , VERY unwise to
mock the ONLY true living God ,
The Lord Jesus Christ .

Jeremiah 10:10
But the LORD is the true God, he is the
living God, and an everlasting king: at his
wrath the earth shall tremble , and the nations
shall not be able to abide his indignation.

All honor and glory to the only true living
God and everlasting King,
The Lord Jesus Christ

Isn't Carnivale similar to Mardi Gras? Let's sin as much as we can before Lent so Jesus can forgive us more? Or something like that. Because, you know, that's what the Apostle Paul said to do? LOL

My dad grew up in Brazil and he said the churches there often would schedule their youth retreats for around that time so the kids wouldn't be exposed to that filth nor feel like they were missing out on the party.

Yes. Carnival is Mardi Gras, just a different name. Carnival in Brazil has been a giant gay fest for decades on top of all the traditional satan worship, drug and alcohol abuse, and immorality.

Mardi Gras in St Louis and New Orleans, ai-yai-yai-yai-yai! (but not quite as outrageous as Rio, etc.).

"If you are a preacher of mercy, do not preach an imaginary but the true mercy. If the mercy is true, you must therefore bear the true, not an imaginary sin. God does not save those who are only imaginary sinners. Be a sinner, and let your sins be strong, but let your trust in Christ be stronger, and rejoice in Christ who is the victor over sin, death, and the world. We will commit sins while we are here, for this life is not a place where justice resides. We, however, says Peter (2. Peter 3:13) are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth where justice will reign. It suffices that through God's glory we have recognized the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. No sin can separate us from Him, even if we were to kill or commit adultery thousands of times each day. Do you think such an exalted Lamb paid merely a small price with a meager sacrifice for our sins? Pray hard for you are quite a sinner."
Martin Luther (letter to Philip Melanchthon, May 8, 1521)

I'm not sure that's quite what Luther had meant.

He didn't. But he did mean to be brutally honest about and not minimize or even think about hiding the sins one had committed when confessing one's sins, since God knew them all already, and lying by omission was just as sinful as lying.

He used to spend hours every day confessing.

I find this discussion interesting. Martin Luther was definitely a great leader for the early church in which God used to ignite the flame of Protestantism. This lead to getting God's written word out of the hands of the mostly catholic oligarchy and into the hands of the common people where it belonged (praise God). I think Luther had a hard time shaking off some of his catholic dogmas (he was one of the highest ranked Catholic phd theologians at that time). Maybe one of them was endlessly confessing his sins (priestly confessional). Obviously I did not know the man so I have no way of knowing the 100% truth, so take this with a grain of salt, but this is just where my mind goes.

My main point is that the more I analyze myself the more sins I find. Also, I am just a man. Imagine if God analyzed me? He would find infinitely more.

Luckily for us God doesn't do this. After I put my faith in Christ and accepted the free gift of salvation paid by Him on the cross, when God looks at me He no longer sees a filthy sinner with endless sins. He sees the imputed righteousness of His beloved Son. How wonderful is the grace of God!

Really makes me say we have to be outta here soon...
I mean... He has been mocked forever... but seems like it is a badge of honor and praised to the hills today....
Really scares me in that he could very well say.. "Ok.. watch this!"
On the other hand... makes me want to just pray more for them... and myself... and just beg mercy some how...
But you know... some people will not learn until we are gone.. and some not even then...
Just makes you wonder how on earth people can be so dang disgusting towards Him. I mean.. how do they sleep at night? Or how do they go to work or see their friends and are not just completely embarrassed a/o terrified of literally everything that could happen to them..
I don't know.. I just don't get it... Just pure insanity...

It's hard to understand people rejecting what is very clear to one's self.

Until, when one has seen enough of it, and enough of it is bad enough, satan's hand in it becomes very apparent.

And when one considers how much satan wants to hurt God as much as possible and get even with Him by stealing as many souls as possible, everything becomes even more understandable.

Fortunately, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for all of everyone's sins, imputes Jesus' righteousness to all, who in faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, ask His forgiveness, and by His grace gives us eternal life in Heaven, instead of eternal death in Hell.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:16-19, KJV

1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:
12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:
20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Many of mens souls have been seared due to
sin.
Unrepentant sin fosters a hard heart .
Unrepentant sin makes one become desensitized to their wicked ways.

Their perception of right and wrong is askew.
They don't know nor understand.
They are unwise with no fear of the Lord.

However, there is a solution to this wide spread problem.

Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of
wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is
understanding.

BIG problem, but a very simple solution.
