RF Cleanup

Before any one asks, I got the weed eater out and went to town on the forums late last night.

I have been wanting to cleanup the forums for a long time. I came across an add-on that allowed me to run cron entries on each forum on RF.

This allowed me to mass delete old threads that had not been replied to in the past year or longer. In the past, I had to manually delete page after page of threads in order to keep the database size manageable.

I was able to delete quite a few old threads across all the forums. You will notice that your post totals are down quite a bit as a result.

Hopefully, the deletion of old threads will result in a faster and better viewing experience on the forums.

RF has been edited to reduce the number of forums to moderate and to focus on the topic of the site which is the Rapture, the End Times, and Bible study.

Some reasons, too many to list them all here, for doing so are:

1. To reduce how much work I have to do in moderating the forums.
2. Remove forums that are not part of the central purpose of RF.
3. Increase overall forums performance without the dead weight of old posts and threads.

I know that the removal of some of the forums is not going to be popular with some folks, but it is needed. I have not been happy with the way the forums were going and this is a move in the direction that I want the forums to go.

There is no need to make threads on the forums about this. So, please DO NOT create threads or posts asking about it. Please DO NOT email me about it. Or anything else of that nature.

This is an owner decision, not a poster decision.
