Restoration Church?

I have heard a Church give itself this label. They say they model themselves after the "church in the book of Acts." Has anyone heard of this?
If you have an opportunity to read the articles of faith that Andy posted, I think you'll see that this church is Calvinist and Pentecostal, some of each of those theological systems together. If I were looking for a church, this is not a church that I would visit, since my beliefs are different from theirs in some important ways.

Thanks for the responses. The church I am talking about has a different name but when I talked to an elder he said they label themselves as a "restoration church" modeled after the early church in the book of acts. Not that they were literally named restoration church.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of this before because I have not.

Any church that is modeled after the early church as it was just beginning is going to lean toward signs & wonders, as that's how the church in Acts validated the gospel message. The church no longer functioned that way after the Scriptures were written.
I'd give it a skip.

Maybe they only restore old Fords and Mazda economy carss and call it: Devine Escort Service....

The later models were some very good vehicles. Don't see too many these days.

I actually had an '83 wagon. :thumbdown I should have bought that Toyota diesel HiLux.....

This is not the case here. I have been attending on and off for almost 3 years and have not heard much of anything about signs and wonders. I was just curious if anyone has heard of a church referencing themselves as a "restoration church."

TBH what is more concerning is the Warren quotes/emergent church stuff.

My wife and I still go here for the bible study and fellowship but we are just careful with any extra biblical stuff.

And I noticed that they have women who serve as elders.

I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 say that men are to be elders, first by use of pronouns and secondly the qualifications and duties of elders/overseers don’t make a woman eligible to serve in this capacity. The use (consistent) of male terms and pronouns (not the woke ones!) make a strong argument for this office to be held, even restricted to, men. Its the order that God made in Creation. Godly men are supposed to serve in leadership roles in the church while women are needed in supporting roles.

Their services on Sundays are called “Sunday Gatherings” no use of “Worship.”

It’s really difficult to find a Bible teaching church that actually preaches verse by verse, and follows the Biblical requirements with respect to pastors, elders and deacons and especially hard to find one that teaches Pre Mil. I never thought I would say that, especially since we are in the “Bible Belt,” but here we are.

looking at that link, they are solidly Calvinist as seen here-- "soteriologically reformed"

and when you see that exact phrase that means that soteriology (the teachings of salvation) are REFORMED which means they are part of the Reform churches which means Calvinist.

Which means that God's grace is only extended to the ones He planned to get saved. That is the doctrine of election which Reform churches teach.
