Prices Already Rising

Everlasting Life

Through Faith in Jesus
So, there's a body wash that my daughter's skin does well with in that she doesn't break out. We can't find it in stores anymore (might be stuck in a cargo ship). And this is a bit spendy (there's a few items we'll pay a bit more because of quality) sometimes now costing about $7-8 dollers (with inflation).

Yesterday, I had a niggling to pop into a discount grocery store and to my delight found the very brand and the very item just sitting there on the shelf. There was only one and that's all we needed. It was a wonderfully low price of $2!!

I'm so thankful for Gods kind provision at the right time and incredible price! And I'm so thankful for His kindness and care for my daughter. :)

It reminds that God is always faithful.

I buy real butter, store brand, $4.38 for a pound. It used to be 2 something.

Haven't seen the Organic Valley organic grass fed butter for a couple of years :eek

Other OV butter is $6.99-$8.99 a pound :mad
Other butters seem hit-or miss in quality, or extremely salty :frown
The lactose-free butter that I got and didn't make me sick has changed and it now makes me sick :mad

I found another brand of organic grass-fed butter, but it was $8.99 for 1/2 pound :fear :mad

Fortunately, since I'm not baking very much, we go through very little butter anymore.

Made another trip to the grocery store today. I had a tooth extracted this morning so I went to buy some soup. I looked at all of them. The closest store to me is where I go cuz I have to ride my scooter. This store doesn't carry a store brand soup so all they Carry is Campbell's or Progresso. The Campbell soup is now selling, for a regular size, for $2.69 a can. Chicken noodles has always been the cheapest of Campbell's as well as Tomato soup. Now it's $2.69 as all the others. The Progresso soup I used to buy at about $2.29 a can but now the Progresso soup sells for get this...$4.79 a can. Almost $5.00 a can for Soup! They are trying to starve us! I cannot go much longer with prices continuing to rise weekly, because I get food stamps due to living under the poverty level with my income as little as it is on Social security and housing being so high. The worker for food stamps said they aren't going to increase amount of FS as the food cost goes up. It's so costly living in California for everything. I'm scared to see the cost of food next week. Gotta keep remembering God always provides.

Campbell's soups used to be 12 cents a can. 10 for $1 on sale.

That was long before the Chunky and Low-Sodium varieties. When the Chunky flavors came out, we didn't buy them cuz 'spensive: 25 cents a can :eek

A lot of things suddenly jumped $2 $3 $4 and more :furious :rant :mad :wild :frust :cry
The Lucini organic olive oil that went up $6 a bottle recently went up another $1

Whole Foods 365 (house brand) organic OJ went up over $2. Now $6.69 for a half gallon

Still no grass-fed beef in the meat service case, except for one lonely brisket. The butcher can't grind it for hamburger once it hits the case :frust

Haagen Dazs is on sale at the local grocery chain, but the sale price for one less-than-a-pint carton is more than the sale price for two of the same size a few months ago :cry Limit of two cartons per day (tracked through loyalty program)

For I don't know how many years now our Wegmans has sold their brand of green beans, corn, and peas for .49 a can. Yesterday the price had gone up to .54 a can. DH was saying several things had gone up in price at Lidl's and Walmart since he was there last week. I went to Safeway a couple of days ago and they had signs up in the meat department touting "sale" prices like $12.99 lb. steaks and $4.99 lb. and up for hamburger. :faint2 The global elitists aren't going to have to try to convince us not to eat meat ~ we're not going to be able to afford it and I'm sure this is exactly why meat is so expensive. Of course, they'll all be gorging themselves on meat being the good hypocrites they are. :furious

Are there food banks near you that could help supplement? I wonder if food banks are struggling...

Yes. Fewer people are able to donate, and more people are needing to use them.

Here, some people, who don't meet income limits, are being allowed access at some places (after additional screening and verification) because the income limits haven't been revised to reflect reality, it's mostly income-based all-or-nothing services here, and people are hurting.

The United States Federal Reserve long ago determined that an inflation rate of 2% per year is ideal to maintain consumer price stability and maximize employment. Currently the rate is in excess of 8%.

The causes are not Russian or Chinese activities, the price of fuel, or the war in Ukraine. In America the causes are simply the disruptions caused by unnecessary long-term Covid lockdowns and current White House policies that have amplified the effects of the lockdowns plus executive actions that have also instituted --purely for ideological reasons-- harmful rules that are destroying supply chains and seriously hampering the domestic production of basic food and energy necessities.

In short, due to the cascading effects of many White House policies and actions, the current administration, by its deliberate actions, is destroying the nation's economic underpinnings. Whether by incompetence or on purpose, I do not know for sure. But I am inclined to think it is a combination of the two. Socialists act based on their pie-in-the-sky vision and ignore the reality of what is happening on the ground. To them the realization of their dream is worth any price ... the ultimate end-justifies-the-means example.
