I've never tried spam. My mom did stock up on some last year so there is some sitting around. Not sure I can stomach the idea of trying it. It seems to be loaded with sodium.
Take spam out of can and if have gel on it, scrape it off. Then place spam in bowl of ice water for 15 minutes. Take spam out and dump bowl contents out and rinse bowl out and fill with cold water and put spam back in for about 5 min. Take out and pat dry. It takes all that excess sodium off/out. The Spam then taste great however you use it.
I just slice and swipe with mustard, a tad of brown sugar and clove and bake.

Ok. I'm gonna try this. Maybe pair it with fried apples and onions.

Ooh that sounds good.
I’m glad I canned water the first of the year because now we are drinking it due to water supply issues from this frigid weather. Also been into the stock-up buckets (getting flour) I started at the first because I felt I needed a well stocked emergency supply of basics. Making a lot of homemade bread. HEB grocery has food now but milk and bread flying off the shelf.

Remember how ham had to be boiled and soaked overnight to get some of the curing salt out. You can boil Spam to get rid of some of the salt. One nice thing is that I can chew it! And yes I have put some in with my mashed potatoes and it does work.

I was listening to a doctor program on the radio last week. The doctor was talking about heart health. He mentioned the pills that lower ones cholesterol. The doctor took the blood cholesterol readings of many patients as a test for blood cholesterol reading and plaque deposits. One of the patients a little old lady that was careful with her health and diet had good blood cholesterol tests but was still making plaque. Nothing is 100% ! .

Yeah a country-wide minimum wage hike to $15 will cause some serious inflation. Folks with savings and those on fixed incomes will be hit hard. I guess it's one way to help ensure the elderly of the population are destitute. The inflation will ease some of the pressure on our National Debt, but the govmint will just keep adding to that... A high minimum wage would also be hard for a lot of small businesses. So many have already closed for good due to the government mandates following the COVID outbreak.

I guess we're witnessing a classic example of the opposite of a government of, by, and for the people. Welcome to the staging days for the end of this era.
Keep voting for those elected representatives!

Only the dry and country hams.

Northern (sweet) hams, no need to soak. Brown sugar, cloves, and pineapple . . . mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm . . .
