Pray for America?

I find it very easy to pray for the Church, and that our numbers will grow. Praying for my Country goes against everything the church stands for. I do pray for our leaders, that they will become wise, and no longer foolish. I pray for our enemies that they will someday see the light. Terrorists cause lots of death and injuries, but the numbers they inflict pain on pales in comparison to the damgage all the false churches inflict upon those lacking in discernment, and the eternal consequences that will follow unless they become wise. So I will continue to pray for all those who are in the body of His Church, and pray we all can remain strong in Him. America is my temporary Home, but not my final destiny.

Im bumping this because it ties in with another thread about America being blessed.
Just to clarify as I now realise I didn’t word the title well about America being blessed. I was meaning the riches God has blessed the Body of Christ in America (and Canada) with ie teachers with an excellent grasp of scripture rightly dividing the Word of God, correct pre trib/ end times prophecy teaching, and sound discernment ministries. To me this is a major blessing from God and what I was referring to.

Ugrhh!! I wish I was able to communicate more effectively and be clearer!! I’m English but seem to struggle speaking my own language - I know what I want to say and then it comes out jumbled or wrong!!

Edit to add, I very much agree with what’s been said in this thread and it equally applies to the UK.

Is it possible to love the America that is ‘good’ but not worship it and/or LOVE and look forward to going home?
Freedom, those that sacrifice, ice cream,

“...chicken fries, cold beer on a Friday night, a pair of jeans that fits just right and .....” - (Zach Brown Band reference)

Bumped this once again.

America and most other nations have went downhill fast since this thread was first posted 5 years ago.

I strongly believe that its judgement time very soon, as in 7 year tribulation. I believe now is the time more than ever to pray for the lost, and not for the nations we live in. All nations have long turned their back on Him. I do pray for our leaders, and especially Trump to stand firm in their beliefs to the very end.

Wise move, Andy. I agree with you.

I just saw this thread for the first time and thought about how things have changed in the past 7 to 8 years.
Jack Kelley’s assessment is very interesting. Especially his take on our preconceived notions of what Heaven can be like, and how it is beyond our understanding. That it leads many to believe in so many words that Heaven can be boring. With all we have in this world, it is no wonder that many will settle for “Heaven on Earth “ as it is in the form of a “free country” as opposed to living simple on faith, where someone is opposed. Those in the most adverse situations, whether it is a poor or totalitarian country seem to be the ones most on fire for the Lord. Many in the US are hoping for a revival. If it does happen, I would not be surprised, if it happens if the Church needs to go underground before the Rapture.
Interestingly, I first posted on this site the day of Biden’s inauguration. I felt depressed because I felt it was the beginning of the end of my Country. We know how much we will miss the distractions of patriotic things like fireworks and a poignant Presidential speech being meaningful. Sunday I watched some of the Memorial Day celebration from Washington DC. It just didn’t feel the same. It felt hollow and reminded me that war was more a consequence of sin, than it was for a nation showing either power or a need for freedom.
I remember my first post on this site, reintroducing myself from the old RR forum. Reminding us that we are attempting to save a 245 year old dying nation, while Jesus only spent 3 years of his Earthly ministry, to save souls for all eternity.

Everlasting Life

Through Faith in Jesus
My prayer is for the Lord's grace and mercy and that many would be convicted by the Holy Spirit causing them to repent and place faith in Jesus and His work on the cross on their behalf.

And that the church around the world would be strengthened, encouraged and directed in supernatural guidance and wisdom.

:pray

Yes, I pray for God's Will to be done all over the globe, as well as in our nation. Just as the whole world is doomed by it's refusal to accept
the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, so is our nation. The globe is spiraling out of control in these days, but we know what it
is all leading up to..... the rapture, then the return of our Lord to claim His victory and set up His kingdom on earth. Revival??? I don't think so.
Maybe some small ones here and there, but the big ones seem to have ended with Billy Graham's passing. I'm also praying for the rapture to be soon. Nationalism doesn't interest me all that much anymore............ I feel it's more of a stumbling block than anything, and is causing all kinds of division between people. I can't see much positive about it.
