Gas and diesel prices just jumped 50 cents today. I noticed a couple of huge pickups with the fuel sucking engines at the grocery store and wondered what level of anxiety they must be experiencing. I recently upgraded to a fuel efficient chevy duramax 3.0 and if I go 50 mph it will get over 30 mpg. Fewer trips and driving slow will be a necessity soon. Also the food has gone up 10 to 20%. I have relatives who have no interest in helping grow a large garden, I'm doing it anyway with some help from my brother in law.

When I have decisions to make I start in prayer and stay there until I get peace, complete peace about my decision. We are not young, have survived Jimmy Carter, and Obummer and now going throuh Bidenflation, and this is a doozey, we are cutting back on everything we can and we started cutting right when uncle joe was elected and passing massive $pending bills. All I can say is God is faithful, stay in prayer, ask for wisdom to make wise choices, have peace on any big ticket item you need, no peace no purchase, we have learned by experience and bad decisions in the past.
I think that chaser is spot on with what to do to change things. I really think this is what God is looking for in our lives.

The left is proving to be very competent in reaching their goals. I believe that understanding that all this misery is planned and not a result of incompetence is essential to understanding what is happening and where we're headed.
I've seen a few people online say that "the side that wants to win will always beat the side that just wants to be left alone". And I've seen a few pass a CS Lewis quote that says "One of the most cowardly things ordinary people do is to shut their eyes to the facts".

You go, Little Red Hen!~they'll be hollering soon enough. (I won't spoil it, but I tell you, it's one my Kindergartners and I could read every day.) I, too, am trying my hand at a few things besides my typical antique roses, herbs, and perennials. Got cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe, potatoes (started from those that sprouted under the sink), onions, garlic, zucchini/crookneck/spaghetti squash, and a slew of different kinds of tomatoes. We will see what God does with it, going the "layered/raised bed" route. Hauled home an immense cardboard box from around the corner tonight for more fun. Sweet potatoes are on the docket for a "grow bag" (i.e. repurposed yard bag) tomorrow. "Ancient future" just got another definition!

Gas here jumps 10 cents a litre at a time. For context, we used to cry when it went up more than 1 or 2 cents. And it is not ever going back the other way. It usually does the dance. Up until this year it would go from, say, $1.23 a litre and then a few months later be back at 80ish cents a litre. Today it went up from $1.97 to $2.07. Our Liberal leaders' response just yesterday was that "we need to change our lifestyles and it's going to be a bit painful". It's disgusting.

ItIsFinished!

Blood bought child of the King of kings.
Exactly! Well said. People repeatedly ask, "What can I do in the face of all this that is wrong?" Chaser has given the correct answer, the ONLY effective answer.

The other day I saw a Charlie Brown cartoon in which Charlie is saying to Snoopy, "Many folks are praying for God to heal our land, but I think He is still waiting for people to humble themselves, repent and turn from their wicked ways."

God could turn this nation around in an instant. But why? So we can make some acknowledgement of Him then go back and enjoy life, live the way we want, focus on the many things this life offers --family, entertainment, fun-- give Him some time on Sunday morning and maybe a Bible study mid-week? That's not why He saved us. And that is not what we find ourselves in the situation we are currently in in America. He had allowed all this for a purpose. Can we know what that is?

Yes, He wants us in Heaven with Him for eternity; but He also desires multitudes of others to be there with Him, too. And that is why He saved us and left us here. The fact is that He has called us to do our part. And that begins by --each day-- entering into essential, daily, intimate relationship with HIM, dying to self-will and self-desire, and being absolutely willing to abandon our dreams for ourselves in exchange for His plan for us.

You can't talk it until you walk it. God does not accept lip-service, and He will not anoint a life lived in that way. America took Him for granted for far too long. Christians used Him as a means to their own ends; He was a source of answered prayer; His purpose was to supply the needs and, too often, the wants of those who called themselves His. In truth, their contact with him was shallow and convenient.

God has said, "Enough!!!" These ARE the last days. And if we who purport to believe that statement actually DO believe it, then what are we doing as a result?

I'm not speaking about religious activities, I talking of seeking a real relationship with God. It is NOT something God does in us: He has done His part in the world and us through Christ. He is calling on US to do our part. What is our part?

His Word tells us.

Over and over in the Bible we read of God working in the lives of simple human beings to accomplish His will. (Oh, what can be done by an ordinary man or woman in the hands of an extraordinary God!: But in every case we see things begin with the some form of the notification that the person "set his mind" or "set his heart" to seek God and obey Him. Can that be said of us?

You want to know what we can do in the face of all this that is gathering speed toward destruction around us? Stop looking to kings and princes, and chariots and horses; instead look to God and seriously seek His face and set your heart on it. Sarah, Nehemiah, Daniel, Isaiah. All of them. They had their own version of Jacob's cry! "I will not let You go until You bless me!"

Nothing else will do. You and I can continue to live for God half-heartedly and live on the lowest rung of heaven for eternity ... or we can truly stop living for self and set our mind to seek Him to gain the power to live for Him here ...worth the promise that we will live in eternity in the closest ring of His glory. That result has nothing to do with how great a work you do here on earth. Not at all. It has only to do with how willingly you surrender your life to Him. There IS a cost. But I assure you that as great as it may be here on earth, it is nowhere near the cost He, Himself, bore for us.

My friends, I pray you have read through to the end. Because what I have written above will provide not just a supremely blessed eternity but a life of real joy and true peace here on this earth ... regardless of our circumstances.

May God touch you deeply with His truth. :pray
This.

Our Economic Misery Isn’t an Accident, It’s the Plan
The Left doesn’t want you to be able to drive, buy a home, or enjoy a burger.
By Daniel Greenfield

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

Americans can’t afford to buy a used car or even gas because the Left doesn’t want them to drive. They can’t buy homes because the Left wants to destroy the suburbs and force everyone to live in megacities. They have trouble buying meat because the Left wants them to eat soy.

The same is true for the whole exercise in planned economic misery that we’re experiencing.

Take Hoover’s “A chicken in every pot and a car in every garage” and reverse it. That’s the goal. What we’re living through is not an unintentional accident: it’s the American Holodomor.

The Left doesn’t want you to be able to drive, buy a home, or enjoy a burger.

Naive Republicans will say that, “Biden is not paying enough attention to the border” or “Biden is not paying enough attention to inflation”.

That’s like saying Jack the Ripper wasn’t paying enough attention to cutting up prostitutes.

2 million illegal aliens are expected to invade America because the Biden administration is paying a whole lot of attention to keeping the border open. That’s why it’s busy fighting in court to dump Title 42 so that every illegal alien who crosses the border will be sure to come here.

When an administration makes increasing the flow of illegal aliens a core legal priority for the DOJ, that means it’s paying a whole lot of attention to it. Much like Jack paid a lot of attention to ladies of the evening. The Biden administration doesn’t believe that there should be a border.

That’s why the border is open wider than Biden’s brain on a Tuesday night.

There are predictions that gas will hit $6 a gallon nationwide by the summer because the Biden administration has worked hard to raise energy prices and create artificial shortages. Biden’s people just got through once again sabotaging oil and gas leases because they want higher energy prices. $6 a gallon is not the result of political inattentiveness, that is the plan.

Inflation isn’t an unintentional accident either. The Left spends like drunken sailors to feed its agenda, but also because spending is an innate good in the Cloward-Piven sense. Devalue money and you wipe out the middle class. Then you can reboot the economy on new terms.

Biden wasted trillions of dollars and is busy blaming “corporate greed” for high prices.

Meanwhile, inflation is doing what it’s meant to do, wiping out savings, and triggering retaliatory interest rate hikes to “cool down” the economy. The middle class ends up poorer and more vulnerable, government dependency rises and social mobility falls. Socialism starts looking better every day. That’s how it worked in the twentieth century and still works today.

All of this is terrible for Biden’s poll numbers, but that’s only a problem for Hunter Biden and whatever Chinese, Ukrainian or American oligarchs are paying his crack bills this week.

Picking a dementia patient for the presidency was always a suicide mission. Republicans are somewhat right in that Biden really isn’t paying attention to the economy or much of anything else. On a good day he can mumble his way through a teleprompter and then go back down to the basement for some ice cream. It’s the radical leftists around him who call the shots.

Putting Senator Elizabeth Warren in the White House would have led to the same programs, but the blame would have been directed at the Left. This way, the Left gets its agendas through while the blame falls on the most out-of-it leader of a major world power since King George III.

The Left is wearing Biden like a skin suit and will casually discard him when it’s done. That’s why the media is suddenly interested in that “Russian disinformation” about Hunter’s laptop.

Biden was dumb enough to think he had finally made it, when he was just the Left’s fall guy.

And while he may be incapable of paying attention to anything, his administration is cheering every price increase. The worse life gets for us, the closer the Left gets to its core agendas.

High gas prices aren’t “Putin’s price hike”, but they’re not even “Biden’s price hike”, they’re the “Left’s price hike”. Car and gas prices are meant to squeeze Americans out of car ownership. It’s such an unsubtle ploy that administration members will actually boast about it. And then they’ll urge Americans to buy $60,000 electric cars that they know people can’t afford.

The utterly blatant goal is to eliminate millions of cars by making it too expensive to drive.

And Democrats are working on this on multiple ends, from environmental and safety regulations, to raising gas prices, to artificial car shortages. Even those who can afford an electric car or get a government subsidized one will be kept off the road by high power rates.

Home prices? The Left has spent generations trying to kill the suburbs and the housing market. Much as it’s worked very hard to wipe out private sector medicine by using the stresses of the system against it. Making the private market for a good or service completely inaccessible for the vast majority of people paves the way for nationalizing it. The Left does not want people living in smaller communities. It has plainly said that everyone should have to live in cities.

Taking out the home and car markets are both means of limiting mobility and forcibly concentrating populations in dense urban clusters under their panopticons. These are the same strategies used by the Soviet Union and Communist China. And have the same intended end.

Food prices? The Left has been equally adamant that ordinary people must stop eating meat. Replacing traditional staples like bread and meat, milk and eggs, is another agenda item and was once again pursued through a combination of regulations, environmental, safety and animal rights measures, and more artificial shortages that are meant to transform the American diet.

You won’t be able to eat, drive or have a home to live in… and you will be told to be happy.

Or else.

This is not a conspiracy theory. The only assumption being made here is that the Left is achieving its stated goals as the result of a plan rather than a series of accidental coincidences.

Too many Republicans are failing to hold the Left accountable by refusing to state what is going on. Hanlon’s Razor, “never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity” is fine when it’s not being applied to an ideology that is achieving its objectives through its actions.

That’s not a conspiracy theory, it’s policy.

Pasting Biden’s “I Did It” stickers on gas pumps is fine, but he’s completely expendable.

If Americans don’t understand that our misery isn’t an accident or incompetence, but part of a plan then the downward cycle will continue to play out with increasingly worse outcomes.

Until the Left finally gets what it wants. And then the rest of us won’t have anything left.

I'm glad that some people are waking up to this, I just wish more of us could come to see that MOST of the politicians are part of the problem.

It's a class warfare issue, not necessarily just a left/right divide. The corporate fascism and crony capitalism pushed by the wealthy right is just as miserable to live under as the left's regime, it's just easier to point the finger at the left because they have so many obviously mentally ill people in the spotlight who hate our values to our faces and they are much more prone to use violence to achieve their objectives.

The Right tilting politicians at least have the sense to pretend to care about our values when it suits their agenda but in reality I have come to the conclusion that they have no more in common with me or you than the left wing nutters. They also want to live in vain decadence and are completely out of touch with the lot of the common man and woman.

As George Carlin used to say: "It's a great big club and you AIN'T IN IT!" I wish he were alive to see this, he would have a lot of stuff to say, no doubt.

The left wants to TELL you when you can drive, buy a home and what and when to eat. They may have a plan. but God has greater plans for them if they don't change their ways!

In the meantime what do we do? I may be forced to go back to work before I’m ready. I’m struggling with anxiety and some depression here. Up until a few months ago, we were doing ok. Paid our bills, bought groceries, etc with no problem. Our bank account had a nice cushion. That cushion is getting smaller. It could be partly unwise spending on our part, but not all. Things have gone up way too high and some people are still out spending money like they’ve got unlimited funds. We were going to pay my husband’s car off, which we will do this month, buy me a newer car, sell mine, and get our daughter one. Now it looks like I’ll be keeping mine for the time being and maybe looking at a car payment for my daughter instead. My car is a manual transmission and she can’t drive it so giving my car to her isn’t an option. She will have to get a job but she realistically can’t work a whole lot during marching band season. Then we have a 12yo son who isn’t quite there in maturity so I’m hesitant to go back to work and possibly have to leave him home alone on occasion because my daughter won’t always be here due to work or band practice.

I’m praying, crying, panicking, shutting down which three out of four isn’t helping. Still begs the question, what can we do? The Republicans may be griping, talking about Creepy Joe and the ruined economy but no one is trying to do anything about it. How are we expected to survive?
Where I worked there was a manager from the Army Corp of Engineering. What he always said is that the only difference between donkeys and elephants is it takes the elephants longer to get there. Another words the republicans want the same thing the demoncraps want and are working toward that end.
