President Biden’s move to tap the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve is expected to supply Chinese and Indian oil needs as gas demands have led to global shortages, reports said Tuesday.

The White House said the Department of Energy will release 50 million barrels of oil held in U.S. reserves — 18 million of which have already been congressionally approved for sale.

Meanwhile yesterday a reporter asked Energy Secratary Jennifer Granholm if she knew how much oil the United States consumes per day. She had no idea. The reporter went on to estimate it was 18 million barrels per day and so effectively Biden was releasing approximately 3 days worth. (Before 18 million of the 50 went up for sale) Now less than approximately 2 days worth of oil if reporter's account is accurate.

Just feels like we are full steam ahead to a crisis.. Biden has severely handicapped our domestic oil production, He's tapping our oil reserves to help his approval numbers and now we're selling reserves we have to China, which congress approved.

It's laughable apart from knowing God's word and knowing the time and the season.

50 million barrels isn't a lot toward U.S. consumption I agree, but that's (per internet) 12.1% from our 605 million barrels of reserve. If he keeps it up, Joe can just claim we don't have enough gas to help Israel when they come under attack.. and it won't be a lie.

Ahh, you are correct. If they really want Americans to benefit, they should reopen the keystone pipeline. Doing that would create jobs and solve our energy crisis, and by extension our high gas prices. But, they're following a script to destroy America.
