Is the stage is being set for the One World Religion?
Former President Barack Obama — a professing Christian — is predicting the discovery of life on other planets could spark “new religions.”

The 59-year-old Democrat shared his prognostication during a conversation with New York Times columnist Ezra Klein.
While the discovery of life elsewhere in the universe would certainly be a paradigm shifting revelation, Obama said it wouldn’t change his politics.

“It’s interesting,” he told Klein. “It wouldn’t change my politics at all, because my entire politics is premised on the fact that we are these tiny organisms on this little speck floating in the middle of space.”

“But, no doubt, there would be immediate arguments about, like, ‘Well, we need to spend a lot more money on weapons systems to defend ourselves,’” the former commander-in-chief continued. “New religions would pop up. And who knows what kind of arguments we get into.”
Although he once said the U.S. is “no longer a Christian nation,” Obama has professed Christianity for years. In 2008, as a candidate for president, he said he believed Jesus “died for my sins” and that he could “achieve everlasting life” through “His grace and His mercy and His power.”

Obama said he grew up in a non-religious home and didn’t come to believe in God until he moved ot Chicago.

In 1988, the late Rev. Billy Graham wrote he could find “nothing that would change our essential faith in the Gospel if we did discover life on other planets.”

“Our Bible is clearly designed for this particular planet with its particular problem of man’s sin,” the evangelist wrote. “When we observe this fact, we are on safe ground. It is not part of the Bible’s message to inform us of what God has done elsewhere. Its message is concerned with earth dwellers, their origin, the reason for their existence, the cause of their misery, and the plan of redemption for a fallen race.”

If there is life on other planets, Graham added, they are either “not involved in the sin problem” or, if they are, “God has made satisfactory provision for them” just as He has for human beings on earth.

As for Obama, his comments to Klein come ahead of the anticipated release of an unclassified Department of Defense report detailing previously unexplained activity centering on unidentified flying objects, or UFOs, and the U.S. military.
I've been looking the current spate of UFO stories as a propaganda distraction for current failings in govt...bread and circuses. But this 0bama quote caught me by surprise. He is a spokesman uniquely placed on the world stage. All I can think of is, "Hold on to your hats!"

The NYTimes issued a sort of "sneak preview" of the release and it looks like a big "nothing burger" to me. But, I agree that it could be just a distraction from some very serious allegations about a number of people in the U.S. government--starting with Anthony Fauci.

I found this quote from a Fox News article creeper actually

He went onto explain how the prospect of aliens might be unifying for humanity.
"…My politics has always been premised on the notion that the differences we have on this planet are real. They’re profound, and they cause enormous tragedy as well as joy," he said. "But we’re just a bunch of humans with doubts and confusion. We do the best we can. And the best thing we can do is treat each other better, because we’re all we got."
The former president added that he hopes the knowledge of aliens "would solidify people’s sense that what we have in common is a little more important."

Its a nothing burger for now but I don't think it's going away.

I trust very little of what Obama says and comments about possible aliens, how it would or would impact his or any other persons religion/faith, and us being on a tiny speck, etc. are just as much a waste of time to ponder and care about as most of what he says about things. His words carry a lot of weight with many but they mislead and corrupt the listeners that refuse to use discernment, and this is certain true of comments from this article.

It is still my thought that it may be used in the event of the Rapture, but, until then, it will probably fade into the background.

I don't think this is going to fade/go away, but it's not going to be the daily haranguing from multiple directions like the unmentionable topic has been. Until after the Rapture. Except TPTB need to groom *everyone* so the lie(s) will believeable and accepted :mad

Sadly, USA Today print edition last Friday had an over-wrap four-page front-and-back cover advertisement referencing hybrid humans/humans being born with horns, etc. I expect that out of the tabloids, but not a *regular* newspaper :mad

This weirdness/sin and grooming of the lost is getting more and more mainstream by the day :cry

Obama is a New Ager who believes Muhammed and Jesus are both 'Imams' who worked out their own salvation through 'illumination'. He can equally profess both Islam and Christianity and has. 'Two different roads going to the same place'. What someone needs to do is ask him if John 14:6 is true. That's why he predicts 'new religions', new illuminations and pathways.

Allanah Myles Sang a pop song a few years ago, heavily tinged with new age concepts, it seemed to 'annoint' someone who sings a 'new song' Could just as well be the antichrist or one of his prophets:

"Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please.."

This snippet of the song could also refer to the statues of the antichrist that will abound in the tribulation, maybe replete with a velvet swatch for a cape. Worship will be mandatroy, see Revelation 13. Kings used to be draped with purple velvet, the antichrist may choose black velvet as his regal cape.

Agreed that Satan's forces aren't just going to give up and settle back in their seats. They are going to keep pushing. Non-Torah observant Kabbala, is a first cousin to Satanism and is practiced by a number of ethnic Jews who often hate religious Jews. A number of rabbis have expressed grave concern about Kabbalah's growing influence in Judaism. Kabbalah may have been what Jesus was referring to in His letter to the congregation in Smyrna about those "who say they are Jews but are not" accusing them of having a "synagogue of Satan". Kabbalah as a competing religion with Judaism was systematized in the Middle Ages (and many believe it began then). However, I believe its occult nature goes back to the time of Solomon--the six-pointed star--the so-called Star of David is also known as the pagan "Star of Remphan" (or Rephan) --thought to be a very powerful symbol by those who are into paganism. It was mentioned in Acts 7:43 (and not in an approving way). Paganism has plagued non-biblical "Christianity" through many forms of Gnosticism, but Kabbalah has plagued Judaism in the same way. The occult roots of both Gnosticism and Kabbalah are apparent when you examine them thoroughly and they likely both trace their origins to Babylon--(thus, "Mystery Babylon"). The Book of Ezekiel (chapter 8) describes wicked rituals being done right in the Temple in his day and the heavenly being who gave Ezekiel the vision tells Ezekiel that the leaders in the Temple had led the people into detestable sin and violence. The occult form of Kabbalah is practiced by a number of ethnic (but not religious) Jews. One of the outrageous things that Kabbalists teach is that, in order to force God to act, they need to work toward an increase in wickedness to the point where He must judge. When Israel was formed, there was a lot of controversy about the "Star of David" being chosen as the national symbol of Israel. A number of religious Jews were upset by its adoption. They would have much preferred the menorah as a symbol or even the Tree of Life.

Interesting take on the song.

I always thought it was a tribute to Elvis.
